Hsbc replay to my complaint about miss-sold ppi on my credit card.
They offered to pay redress of 2000 in full and final settelment of my complaint.
Just want to ask what they mean by:
In order to ensure that this matter has not financially disadvantaged you,the offer will put you back into the position that you would have been had the Cardholder Repayment Protector not been taken out.
Regards
Caroline
They are giving you FULL redress, which means all PPI that you have paid plus 8% standard interest.
The statement above basically means they are giving you back everything that you shouldn't have paid with regard to insurance
Well done :T Successes
Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid
MBNA £3,600 Paid

Hello everyone, I am new here. This has no doubt been asked a million times but this is a very large thread and I would like some guidance please.
My debts are getting out of hand, but my credit card in particular: at around £7000 is what is making me sick. Anyway, I've had the card for about 7 years and have PPI on it. My question is, should I go through my bank (BoS)? They told me have their own team for dealing with PPI claims, is this recommended or should I do my own claim? I prefer the thought of someone else dealing with it (got enough to stress about) but I don't want to if there is a risk of them not being fair (it is against them after all).0 -
Hiya all
well done on everyones successes its very inspirational to read them all. I've got a few claims in at the moment with Halifax, HSBC, Barclaycard and Virgin just wanted to ask if anyone who has had a success with any of these how long it took to from start to finish with your claim? I sent off the claims in the last two weeks of Feb 2012 I've received acknowledgement letters from all but I'm getting impatient now I'm on maternity leave at the moment and any extra money would be fantastic, keep waiting on the post everyday to see if anything has arrived x0 -

So his oldest loan was in 1999 and they still had details?
I ask because they are telling me they don't have details for my loans from 2005 and 2006 due to their age!!!
Thanks
Have you done a Sar for these?

This will get you the info you need.
If a loan or CC is closed, the details will be archived this is why they cannot find them, you pay the £10 for them to retrieve the info.0 -

Look here for reasons for mis sell

If any/all apply to you then make the claim you only need the card number, you can ring BOS and do this over the phone, when you hang the receiver up
sit back and wait for a response

They have 8 weeks to give a final response if you put your claim in on or after Jan 1st, it is 12 weeks if put in on or after 1st Sep to Dec 31st 2011.0 -
