Did anyone take out a policy with CPP some way back and will this inhibit or indeed be fatal to a claim for wrongful PPI on a credit card?

    Hi and welcome

Sorry I am miles away tonight :o lol, who are CPP in full if you don't mind me asking? cheers.
It will be fine to make a reclaim on the PPI for whatever reasons you have.
It does not really matter how old the account is really, although it will help if an older account if you do hold any paperwork.

After 8 weeks waiting on a decision from Barclaycard Egg they have sent me a letter to say they have still not come to a final conclusion and need more time. The letter gives no time line but advises that if I wish I can approach the FOS. Does this sound like they are staking before sending my rejection letter or staling cause my claim will be upheld and they don't want to pay out? The FOS should sort Barclaycard out and insist that they get their act together instead of pushing work in the direction of the FOS. Any suggestions? I have emailed Bob Diamond and David Chan today to tell them of their disgusting service and how they faired against HSBC and Halifax

I am just about to start my claims with egg but wondered if anyone had had any sucess,

    Hiya

I am aware like all banks/businesses they are trying to catch up with backlogs and not always able to meet the 8 week deadline, but if you feel it's gone on too long after the 8 weeks, you could contact your local MP and ask if they will write to them on your behalf, they should be willing to help.

    Good luck.

I've not read of many successes to be honest but I live in hope
Good luck in your egg journey

    hi and welcome

i am aware if there are any outstanding arrears they are allowed to use the refund towards them, and also any balance, but anything remaining should come back to you plus the interest.
It does however vary from one bank/business to the other, and to what i am aware of as long as the arrears are cleared, you can argue that you would prefer to receive the remainder of what is left, because you were hoping to use the money for maybe another debt.

On settled accounts, you should receive all your refund.

However, did you sign, or did they just automatically do this?
they just took the money i have rang them and said i was unhappy as they did not.. And have not contacted me..as it was and old fully paid off account is why im mad ..and so i owe them money i dony understand why they sent 3800 plus to debt free direct

Card Protection Plan- You pay for insurance over your cards being stolen and are offered services for their replacement. Its the same company that have been recently mis selling identity theft insurance.

That is naughty of them! They should have at least have given you the chance to agree or not.
Ask your MP to write to them, and sort this out, it may help.

    Good luck x

    Hi

If an arrangement's been put into place they must keep to that, but in my own experience all mine were treated separately, and I assumed it was the case for all banks.

Like I have been telling lots on here, if you feel like your not getting anywhere with them, try contacting your local MP who should be willing to help, they should push this for you.

    Good luck.

Lol,of course silly me, dont worry wasnt quite with it yesterday evening lol.
I know this is a different matter to that of PPI, but still surely if you did not want this and they automatically added it, maybe you can still put in a complaint in writing.

You can wait for other opinions on this if you want to before you go any further.
The way I see it, is that you do not have to take on the banks/business who sold the account their own products.

    Good luck.
