My settlement from LTSB turned up today after waiting nearly two months after numerous phone calls and emails.

Settlement letter was dated 5th September and today my redress cheque of £1,778.38 arrived.

That will be last time I have any dealings with LTSB - they are an absolute disgrace.

Good luck to anybody whos's waiting - take comfort in the knowledge they do eventually pay out.

great news, nice to know they do pay out eventually, my letter was dated 8th , can i ask please was this for a loan or fredit card and was ur loan finished or still running. i have two payments left on my loan and they say the delay is in doing the calculations on whats left to pay lol.

    Hi Limars

My claim was for PPI on a Goldfish loan which was paid up early back in 2005. My origianal complaint letter went in on 20th May so its taken a while to get them to cough compared to the likes of Egg, MBNA etc.

If they are working through the settlements in date order (which is one of the more plausible reasons for the delay they gave me) you shouldn't have too much longer to wait.
  • Hi Nutty Nat, thanks for reply. Hopefully you will be receiving your good news soon then. Will be keeping an eye out for your post.

Just wondered if anyone can help with another query I have. I currently have a loan with Barclays and wondered if I could claim however still keep the loan going as I cant afford to pay it off. Details as follows.

    Cash loan - £13,000
    PPI - £3,183
    Loan started - 14 Nov 2007
    Loan term - 15 years

Currently paying £150 a month back (with the interest being about £90).

They said I can apply for the £3,000 cashback next year however is it worth me writing a letter regarding the PPI? How should I word it? Any help would be gratefully received.

    Thanks.

Well done to those who have received good news

  • Good morning - long time lurker and first time posting so please excuse any mistakes!

Thanks to this site and everyone's great advice and tips, I took the plunge and approached M&S last year on two old loans - they were held over pending the review but in June this year I got two cheques back totalling £5,600 - I was so shocked especially as I only had the account numbers and no paperwork!

Since then we have turned the house upside down retrieving old paperwork on loans and credit cards and am hoping for some more success with a few others. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on a refund calculation for a loan - calculations are not my strong point which you will probably gather from the figure I have paid back!!!

    The details are

    Loan taken out September 2003
    Amount £20,000
Term 84 months @£380.89 per month
    APR 7.8%
    PPI element £4,806
    Interest £7,188.76
    Total payable £31,994.76 !!!
Ran to term and paid in full.

    Many thanks.

Hi Mill Reef, If no one comes back to you before give me until later on this afternoon and I'll give you an idea, the 8% takes a bit of working out on a spreadsheet :)
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)
  • Hi Am looking for some advice. I have a loan with Santander (originally taken out with Cahoot online) which was taken out in 2006. Didn't realise I had PPI until I received a statement which showed my monthly payments inclusive of PPI. I cancelled this straight away but can anyone tell me if the PPI box would have been already ticked and it was up to me to opt out. Thanks in advance
  • can anyone tell me do i need an account number to request a copy of a credit agreement? my husband and i have had 3 loans with aliance and leicester i phoned them up to submit a claim against ppi on one that i still had the account number of and within 2 weeks they had paid £789 into our account which was fantastic! however we dont have the account numbers for the other two so how can we get them? thanks in advance

Hi all, not been on for a while due to work. However, had some great wins since I was last on:

    MBNA
£8400 pd on a card that ran with average balance of £4500 for 8 years. They took at least 6 weeks to pay, paid off the balance then the rest was sent as a cheque

    Barclaycard
After my rejection of their initial offer of £1100, they came back with £5500. Card ran from 2001 to 2007, balance £4500. Still waiting for the money, however, from 13 September.

    Natwest
12 months loan with PPI of about £70 per month, we rolled the loan into another one which they already paid out on. I was expecting £1000 approx, so was amazed last week to find an extra £5000 in my bank account - no letter, nothing!

Still waiting on one MBNA one, hppefully will sort in the next 2 weeks.

However, the upshot of these fantastic results is that once I pay off the cards and other bits, we will have cleared £650 per month off our outgoings, and we will have at least £8K to put towards savings for a deposit on a mortgage next year. I wouldn't have done it without you all, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
