You got your cheque from First Plus yet Nat?

No Firstplus cheque yet, seven weeks since my acceptance letter went back next week. Called them yesterday and no cheques have been issued yet, but they have give me a telephone no to call them on next week.

Thanks for asking ;), I hope you are ok and have enjoyed some retail therapy with your Firstplus money :).

My husband and I took out a secured loan, in 2001 and subsequently refinanced it in 2004. We settled the loan out of a property sale and within the settlement amount paid PPI + interest. We posted our PPI claim direct to First Plus in June this year and got our letter at the end of September. Great news for the cost of 1 stamp... a refund over the 2 loans amounts to £14,000. Please remember people that you do have to pay tax on the 8% extra they give you back, so we are expecting only to receive the balance of £13,000, tax is charged at the high rate of 20% although the actual return of the PPI and any interest you paid over the term of your loan is not taxable. You need to be aware that not all company's deduct the tax at source and you WILL be liable.:j
We have also made a claim to Black Horse and Barclays, Black Horse have rejected our claim however we intend to take this to the ombudsman. Barclay's have agreed to pay out... so yet again another £6.500 back in OUR bank. If you haven't already done this then go do it... why should the banks sit on your money!!! Good luck..:T Just waiting for those lovely cheques to arrive now!

Well done on your Firstplus win, my Firstplus refund for ppi is being paid net of tax and dizzy with money was paid the same. ;)

congratulations to you I have a claim in with them and I am now on my 18 weeks waiting the result on my claim. Have written already to Robert Diamond and was told tday that I am getting a letter sent out to me asking me to be patient with them and hoopefully they will have a resolution soon.

I actually posted 2 updates to the post you replied to. I later found out the money was already in my account!!!!!!!!

I phoned to ask them to look at calculations again and when I asked when I had been sent my "missing" upheld letter and why was money in account without my accepting their offer, the girl apologised and said the upheld letter hadn't actually been sent to me?
They were so inundated by complaints that they were missing out that part of the process !!!!!

Hope you hear good news soon.

Does seem to be a lottery though. Do you have an account with them? perhaps this makes a difference??

Thanks saverjules :T I have to wait until just before Christmas as they were allowed 16 weeks when I submitted, has only been 8 weeks so far :( Haven't bothered them since submitting late August, received acknowledgement 1 Sept. Week 13 I might give them a gentle chase up as it's my lucky number :D.
    Thanks for the number ;)

sounds like a plan go for it

    lloyds jokers :

So, this may be of interest to all those waiting for payments. I got my upheld letter circa 10th sept, figures sent 18th sept. I phoned a couple days ago to be told that it would still be a few weeks due to huge backlog blah blah blah. Anyway, these are my figures :

    Loan 1 :
    Refund of premiums £3621.03
    Interest £1518.69
    Total - 5139.72

    Loan 2
    Refund of premiums £3663.76
    Interest £884.29
    Total £4548.05

    Loan 3
    Refund of premiums £1784.75
    Interest £424.79
    Other indirect losses £56.33
    excess balance and interest £622.72
    Total £2888.59

    Loan 4
    interest £163.40
    excess balance and interest £2734.17
    Total £2897.57

    Loan 5
    Interest £58.63
    Excess balance and interest £741.45
    Total £800.08

    Loan 6
    Interest £8.90
    Excess balance and interest £285.53
    Total £294.43

    Total = £16568.46

So, today, shocked, i got 3 cheques through the door, despite being told numerous times i was getting a bacs payment. I got £294.43, £800.08 and £2274.03. Great, until i realise there is nothing anywhere with the 2274 figure. I cant work this out at all, and im guessing they are now shut til monday too. They are so frustrating, but at least ive got something. Like how they leave the big amounts til last though.

    Hiya

    Well done on your success!

They are open Saturday morning from what I am aware, because they are dealing with the backlogs.
Give them a call, good luck.;)

Hers a bit more info relating to my claim............................. Got my upheld letter 29th August and my calcs letter 16th Sept.
When i spoke to helpline this morning they said missing premiums had already been credited to my loan account and I had been paid the refund at the start of October, and the money that went in this week via BACS was the balance of my refund!! But I havent had any other money and my loan balance is the same as it was, minus the payment I made today!!
I thought I was finally sorted on Monday but obviously not!!

    Hi there

I would contact them again about this, tell them its confusing, give your reasons and ask if they can explain in clear details, they should be open Saturday mornings, good luck.;)

Well done Anne, hope you enjoy getting to spend some of that money on yourself.
If you fancy a nice meal and haven't already tried it, go to the restuarant I think it's Solas at the Caberfeidh Hotel, I loved it, or hop across to North Uist and go to Langass Lodge, fantastic seafood there.:D
Hi Smitchy , Well the Cabar is literally 5 mins down the Road from me so if I go anywhere it will probably be there . Going to get my kids and grandchildren together for a meal to celebrate :j Don't think I'll go down to Uist , weather getting very stormy ...not a good sailor .
I hope it won't be too long for your cash to come through.
    :):)
Thanks to everyone for all the help here .
