This is what they put on the ppi at loan start to run over term.
This is h i j.You get the residual back
This is what they owed you from the ppi that was carried over with 8%.

Where is the ppi from the residual loan? if there was any on there.

You said your total win was £8000 and you had 2 loans with ppi,is that right? if it is,then the remainder is the other ppi with 8%.

I have just rung Barclays to ask them to clarify their calculations and ask about the “missing” letter in which they upheld my complaint. I was only on hold for 20 minutes.
The girl said they were inundated with claims and had decided to pay money into accounts without offer being accepted!! Apologised for letter I received yesterday that said I had previously had offer because I hadn’t in fact been sent one!!

I asked if Barclays had followed FOS guidelines for “successive single premium payment protection insurance” to recalculate the redress all my loans & the payments up to my present one, to what they would have been if I had taken the first loan in 2004 and third in 2005 without PPI & pay me compensation.
    She couldn’t answer that.
I pointed out my early settlement figures would have been lower on each loan if I hadn’t had PPI on the first and third loan so each loan was higher than it should have been and that affected my current loan which at the moment stays the same.

She said she'd put note on for calculation team to recalculate and they would write back to me. I shall await their next letter, non existent or otherwise!!!!

My OH's claim at BoS had 16 week deadline of 24th. We gave it a couple of days and chased this morning.

Got through straight away, spoke to a nice woman who advised that it had been upheld and a letter sent on 5th October. Obviously we hadn't received it. She is resending it today.

£3900. Sounds about right but will wait for the letter with calcs in.

It is bizarre how they all differ, with NRAM we had a detailed breakdown with re-worked outstanding loan amount and form to sign. Lombard (RBS) we had an offer with no mention of the restructured loan details and a form to sign. With BoS we don't even have to sign anything!

Now just the wait for the refund cheque, and then the last one - Natwest (RBS) decision due 14th December.

It is quite surprising, reading the posts on here as I do daily, that so many letters seem to be going astray!

Take heart all readers - the journey does end eventually.

    Jules

Hi saverjules, would you mind telling me how you chased it up, if it was a telephone number would you mind posting it for my future reference, I have a complaint lodged with them at the moment and it might be useful information, cheers dilus

No problem, I called the query number from the acknowledgement

    0845 601 4034

Called 8 am on the nose and answered in 2 rings

As they claim to have written to us at week 13 in might be worth calling them about then to chase it

Hope you receive a positive outcome soon,
  • Sure enough, as promised, HFC paid up the £10,600 repayment to my bank account today! Overjoyed! :j

Thanks again to everyone on the site for the advice, I really appreciate it.

Thanks saverjules :T I have to wait until just before Christmas as they were allowed 16 weeks when I submitted, has only been 8 weeks so far :( Haven't bothered them since submitting late August, received acknowledgement 1 Sept. Week 13 I might give them a gentle chase up as it's my lucky number :D.
    Thanks for the number ;)

    Evening all!!!!!

Home from work this evening to a letter from RBS for my Mint CC. I wrote to them in August reclaiming my PPI due to working for Local Authority and so I was mis-sold PPI. Happily they have upheld my claim and have awarded me £3220.71. Over the moon with this and have already sent the acceptance back this will be used to clear my Credit card and also I am expecting a cheque back for £440 - hopefully just in time for Christmas.

Cant believe this, this time last year we were nearly £25k in debt and that is us down to £8k and still expecting 2 claims from RBS and Barclaycard... fingers crossed!!!!!! the RBS one for my other half goes back to when she started uni - 11 years ago!!!

Will post the results on here when they come in over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the support and encouragement from all on MSE forums!

Do I win for the lowest refund ever??? :rotfl::rotfl:

Just got a cheque off Halifax - PPI on a closed credit card.

Wait for it ((drum roll please))) 1.gif

    £48.99

Hope my 2 loans are better :rotfl:

One of my results is £27.95 from RBS and I can't even get them to pay that one out. As they owe me over £22,000 in total what chance do you think I have of getting anything this side of Chistmas. Am off next week to open another bank account to put it in when it arrives. I'll know the day before the money goes in as that irritating woman from my branch will ring me up in the afternoon and ask me if I know that a large sum of money is going into my account the next day and can she advise me on what to do with it. And my reply will be?
