Yay well done you. Can I ask what your dates were? I'm still waiting for 2 cheques from Lloyds. They received my acceptance 3/9/11. Had a letter to say interest was paid up to 13/10. Phoned today and was told no further update and that any interest after this date would not be added as the 8% is a goodwill getsure and banks only need to pay interest of 1-1.5% as if I had my money in a savings account. The ahem lady said Lloyds have been more than generous with the 8%. There was me thinking the 8% was what would be awarded if I went to court. Don't want to take any chances though for any interest after 13/10.

  • I first posted awhile ago and was fortunate enough to have smitchy respond to my post advising of the main points of how to proceed in tackling my reclaim. Thank you. A 19,000 loan over 7 years (that was the shortest length of time I could afford to repay) due to finish in a further eleven payments although I had had 2 further loans which 'merged' into this one. The repayment seems to have taken forever! I am still awaiting a hopeful outcome (12 weeks into process) but just wanted to say thank you to all you amazing people on this forum who share so much to help others.
  • Hi
Have been reading posts with interest and have a question that I would be gratful if someone could answer. Have a loan with RBS which I would like to claim PPI back on. Have original paperwork from bank with account no on but don't have insurance number. Can't remember ever getting insurance paperwork. Can I go ahead and start my claim with just my account number? Sorry this is so long winded

Hi I thought I would share my good news. I began my claim for PPI at the end of August this year on a Visa and mastercard that I took out with Barclaycard in 2001.

They have upheld both claims, as they were "unable to establish wether or not I agreed to purchase PPI".

The payout on both cards combined is £9,600. I am over the moon to say the least. I honestly didnt think my complaints would be upheld. I am so grateful to this site for all of the help and advice. Thanks!
  • Hi, I have seen on here mention of having to pay tax on the 8% interest refunded. Can anyone confirm this for me and advise how it is taken? I am employed so will my tax code be changed and the tax on the 8% interest refunded be taken from my wage? Many thanks. Di xx

If they have paid the 8% gross, then yes you have to inform HMRC when you get the payment and they will adjust your tax code so you pay it over the rest of the financial year

Thanks for reply, do I inform them or will Halifax Bank (who are refunding me ppi payments etc on 3 loans)? If its up to individuals to inform the HMRC I wonder how many people actually do?! Di x
