PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Well an update on my case's with RBS/Natwest.
I have contacted them every day for the last 2 weeks to get a reguar update on our payment which is due by 2nd November.
I spoke to someone today to be advised that someone had placed my case on awaiting payment when in fact they hadn't resolved all my cases at all. This was human error and I'm not at all happy and it has delayed the process even more. They also went on to tell me that the insurance company couldn't find the paperwork and a calculation could be done without this??????????????
They then went on to say that I received a goodwill gesture payment in Sept 2009 of £750 on my oldest case with them, when in fact this wasn't in respect with this case but another?
I am slowly losing my patience with them now, although the person I spoke to was very helpful.
Anyway it looks like they are trying to sort it asap, but we will see.
My case has been with them since August 2009  and they have told me they are going in date order, oldest first and newer one's last (obviously to avoid paying too much interest).
Will keep you posted of any progress.0 -

refund of premiums from 24.8.01 - 27.9.07 - £1077.52
compound interest on premiums based on interest charged on CC £ 607.41
gross interest @ FOS rate £ .19
less tax @ 20% £ .04
As your complaint has taken more than 8 weeks to resolve int @ 8% simple on the gross offer amount £1685.12 has been added btween 4.10.11 - 25.10.11 £7.76
Less tax @ 20% £1.55
Net interest £6.21
Total Offer £1691.29
Thanx in advance for your time & help.
I'm not too good on these calculations, but you may find some doing a google search. I personally would double check as RBS have been making calculations it appears on no paperwork!0 -
I have just spoke with a nice man from Firstplus who actually took the time to look into my account, he has e-mailed the payment department to see what is happening and gave me the phone no for them. I was told if I hadn't heard from them by the middle of next week to call them.
Red Peppers, Conkerlily, Spanielover and all others awaiting Firstplus cheques, this is the payments phone no 0845 650 66 00.
Hope this helps you x:D

No. I got the response yesterday evening directly from HFC. They come to a decision on 24.10.2011 (from looking at the letter)
I sent the request mid August.
Are you awaiting correspondence?
Got a rejection from HFC due to length of time since I paid off the loan (1999) even though I had all the paperwork. I sent off my complaint to the FOS in July and am now waiting for a response from them. I was successful last year in getting back premiums + interest from RBS on two loans going back to 1995 and 1997 and paid off in 1999 but this also went to the FOS and took 18 months to resolve! I am just going to have to be patient. I suppose.
Congartulations on your success and all the best for the new arrival0 -
Hi all,
Firstly to say thank you for this great forum and all the information given.
Today have had a letter from Lloyds TSB upholding my complaint re PPI on CC, do not have to contact them they will refund into my current account only if they do not hear from me to the tune of £1,711.16 shortly so will be checking to see how long it takes them. Initial complaint early July 2011, investigation letter on their system 12th July so almost 16 weeks wait. Still waiting for Barclays payment, acceptance letter on their system 1st September so 8 weeks up on 1st November.
In the mean time I have found documents of a loan from 1998 through Lloyds TSB showing PPI added so will have to submit another claim for miss-sold. Will keep you all updated.
Huge thanks to all the great people on this site.0 -
Okay the only mention of PPI is, your monthly payment must be 2% of your statement balance (min £5, or full balance if less than £5.) or, if more, an amount equal to the total of interest, late payment, the PPI premium on your statement and so on. There is no seperate charge on the transaction and charges section. So does that mean I am not paying PPI if I can't see a charge solely for this
Never mind :Dyou have the loan to go for0 -

[QUOTE
Hey all
Just had my letter from Barclays, and good news my complaint has been upheld. This was from an old Woolwich loan.
But here's the downside, the lovely people at Barclays have forgotten to put a figure for the amount I should be getting back.
It's blank with the words (insert amount here)
So called Barclays and they said there was a mistake and person looking into it will call me back with actual figure. Not holding my breath.
Has anyone else had problems with Barclays?

Problems!!!! Well, so far they knocked back husband's claim for his loan saying they had no record of the policy - but the policy was attached to the claim. They have sent me an offer for my claim several weeks ago, saying they will contact me - but never have, and in the meantime sent my husband a refund for ppi on an overdraft on his sole account (not his loan), but put it into our joint account, without even asking if he agrees with this figure and checking it was the wrong account. With regards to his own ppi claim on his loan on his sole account, he has had a letter last week with an offer which he had to sign and send back - I did not get this letter????
I'm not sure they actually know what they are doing, and several people seem to be dealing with one account.0 -
