Hi everyone, I filled in the forms to reclaim the PPI on a loan we took out with the Halifax in 2002 and today received a letter telling us they are sending a cheque for all the insurance plus 8% interest...£2600!!!
I only sent the form, no other letters. I'm so chuffed and will be even more so when the cheque is in my hand.
Thanks to everyone on the forum, I havent posted here before but I've been on here to read and gained advice to questions I didnt know I had.

Yay well done you. Can I ask what your dates were? I'm still waiting for 2 cheques from Lloyds. They received my acceptance 3/9/11. Had a letter to say interest was paid up to 13/10. Phoned today and was told no further update and that any interest after this date would not be added as the 8% is a goodwill getsure and banks only need to pay interest of 1-1.5% as if I had my money in a savings account. The ahem lady said Lloyds have been more than generous with the 8%. There was me thinking the 8% was what would be awarded if I went to court. Don't want to take any chances though for any interest after 13/10.

Letter was dated 11th Sept with figures and interest dated to 5th October. Waited not so patiently for the post on a daily basis. Phone again tomorrow Sammikins, keep on at them. Good luck.

Hi I thought I would share my good news. I began my claim for PPI at the end of August this year on a Visa and mastercard that I took out with Barclaycard in 2001.

They have upheld both claims, as they were "unable to establish wether or not I agreed to purchase PPI".

The payout on both cards combined is £9,600. I am over the moon to say the least. I honestly didnt think my complaints would be upheld. I am so grateful to this site for all of the help and advice. Thanks!

Congratulations Ernid. Its so nice to see these consumer wins.:T
I hope you don't mind me asking, but how did you apply for your credit cards? Was in in branch, online, by telephone or by post? I'm interested as I have complained to Barclaycard (for visa and mastercard) too!
    Enjoy your hard-earned gains :)
    Cheers

I have today received a letter from Barclays telling me that "in a previous? letter we outlined that we have upheld your complaint and that we would get back to you in 40 days with a breakdown of your refund etc" and their offer.

However I have not received any letter from them except the one telling me I would hear their decision by November 4th!

The offer is not as much as I expected and to be honest, I don't understand their calculations!
They are crediting the amounts to my current account but make no mention of when!!
Can anyone offer to look at the calculations as as they cover several loans, I would be typing all night.:(
Can I attempt to contact them to discuss this? They have stated they have enclosed a copy of the leaflet "your complaint and the Ombudsman etc.." Except they haven't

    Help would really be appreciated
    Thank you

    Hi Cagey 26,

I cant honestly remember that far back to be honest. It was 2001. I know that we didnt apply online. So it was either by postal application or over the phone.
I didnt have a copy of my application form, so really didnt think my claim would be successful. However the fact that they didnt have a copy of my application either or any phone records meant that they also could not establish wether or not I agreed to take out PPI. So if you took out your card around the same time as we did, you could well be successful. I hope so. Good luck!
