Still struggling with Barclaycard, getting them to change there mind when a claim is not upheld prooving to be a tad difficult  even when there information they based the results on are a load of rubbish

Been a while , another update . Back in Jan / Feb an adjudicator found against us regards a ppi credit card claim , following advice from here we appealed that finding . Good news , letter in from FOS indicating the bank wish to make an offer as a gesture of goodwill . No figures mentioned at this point , will keep you posted .
Thanks again , that will be 3 claims with a positive outcome .
ok , result now in .
RBS have re-paid just over £2500 regards charges to card account , all in the 3 claims have recovered approx £10k .:rotfl:
Again , many thanks for all advice and support .0 -
I've already posted this one once, but here are the full details now:
Claim Against: Barclaycard PPI
Card Originally applied for: c. 1991
PPI Claim started with Barclaycard: 16 May 2011
Offer letter dated: 5 September 2011
Acceptance received by Barclaycard: 8 September 2011
Refund appeared on Barclaycard online: 26 October 2011
Refund in Bank Account: 28 October 2011
And the refund details:
Refund of PPI payments: £6,125.12
Refund of APR: £44,820.36
8% Simple interest: £12,036.69
TOTAL refunded: £62,982.17
One interesting thing to note is that I received a £4 credit to my current account on 25th October which also stated 'BARCLAYCARD REFUND' - it seems that for large transactions they verify the account details with a small credit first...
Next stop is to go and buy a new carPPI Successes: Barclaycard £62,982.17, Halifax One Credit Card £4,616.440 -
Hi Cagey 26,
I cant honestly remember that far back to be honest. It was 2001. I know that we didnt apply online. So it was either by postal application or over the phone.
I didnt have a copy of my application form, so really didnt think my claim would be successful. However the fact that they didnt have a copy of my application either or any phone records meant that they also could not establish wether or not I agreed to take out PPI. So if you took out your card around the same time as we did, you could well be successful. I hope so. Good luck!
Thank you very much for replying ernid and for the good luck too!:A
My situation will be different then, as I applied in branch, and it was a few years earlier (November 1996). I guess I'll just have to sit tight and wait and see!
It is lovely to see a positive outcome regarding Barclaycard though, it gives me a shot of optimism
Thanks again for posting your success and for replying to my nosey enquiry
Cheers

HI,
Have any of you seen the statement in the news section of the website regarding Lloyds Banking group.
It states ' How long is compensation taking?
The government-backed giant admits those due money back for mis-sold cover on a Lloyds TSB loan may not get their cash for approximately 56 days after an offer – double the intended wait – due to the huge backlog of claims it is sifting through.
However, as some of our forum users state, delays can be longer than 56 days.
Lloyds Banking Group, the parent company of Lloyds TSB, insists PPI redress on its other products, which include those from Halifax and Bank of Scotland, should fall within 28 days, the period set by providers as part of a 'gentleman's agreement'.
City watchdog, the Financial Services Authority, says payments must be "prompt" following an offer, but does not set a rigid time-frame.
Additional compensation promised
The Financial Ombudsman Service, which arbitrates in disputes between banks and their customers, says providers must pay any interest due on compensation up to the point of payment.
Lloyds confirms it will make those interest payments and offer additional redress "on a case-by-case basis".
So those whose payments take over 28 days after an offer should make an extra claim.'
If this is the case why am I and many others still enduring waits of more that 60 + days on Halifax CC's. This is disgusting they are now trying positive publicity tactics, when we all know the facts!!!
I am absolutely amazed at this bank's statements!!!Money Saving-Reclaiming-And Won!!!:j:j:j:j:j

Hi
Have been reading posts with interest and have a question that I would be gratful if someone could answer. Have a loan with RBS which I would like to claim PPI back on. Have original paperwork from bank with account no on but don't have insurance number. Can't remember ever getting insurance paperwork. Can I go ahead and start my claim with just my account number? Sorry this is so long winded0 -

A 19,000 loan over 7 years (that was the shortest length of time I could afford to repay) due to finish in a further eleven payments although I had had 2 further loans which 'merged' into this one. The repayment seems to have taken forever! I am still awaiting a hopeful outcome (12 weeks into process) but just wanted to say thank you to all you amazing people on this forum who share so much to help others.0
