I don't think they communicate by email as it isn 't secure, try checking out their website

    http://search2.hmrc.gov.uk/kbroker/hmrc/contactus/search.ladv?raction=view&fl0=__dsid%3A&sm=0&ha=34&as=1&sf=&sp_scope=hmrc&cs=ISO-8859-1&tx0=49612

for other ways to communicate with them.

I take it Halifax are paying you 'gross' and not 'net of tax'? If so you need to let them know, they will probably only adjust your tax code to take it and remember it's only on the 8% simple interest part that you have to pay it.:D

Thanks for that, all I know is that halifax have wrote in their letter that the interest is taxable income?? I will contact the tax people and see what they say :)

Looks like I have yet more success via Lloyds, received an email to confirm, this is the last 2 with them, as others with them have been resolved over the months.:beer::beer:

    Dear,

I can confirm we have now concluded our investigations and have decided to uphold your complaints. A letter has been sent via the Royal Mail tonight so you should receive this shortly.

  • I rang First Plus today and they took my number and rang me back. Told me my cheques still hadnt been sent out but would definitely receive them by the 12th October and that they send them out first class. So if I have to give them until then I suppose.

On the other hand I finally got through to Nat West and they did receive my acceptance on the 1st September and my 28 working days is up on the 10th October! But, and a big BUT, the girl told me that that was only the date they were "working too" and it may be longer than this! I asked why did they state within 28 working days if they couldnt stick to it - she just replied "thats the date they aim for" - so I might have to wait even longer for this one!!! Its so annoying!!
  • I am at the stage with an RBS Offer on a Loan PPI (Received today 06/10./11

    PPI on original Loan £3126.00

RBS Offer £1673.67 - Total Offer with Interest £2453.48

No indication how the £1673.67 was arrived at but as you can see far below the figure that I think I am due.

    Question:
I have 6 months from today to accept the offer

If I go to FOS and complain its likely that this will take over 6 months minimum from other peoples history to get a decision. If the 6 months time limit runs out I assume the offer is taken back by RBS and then I am in the hands of FOS to decide. If this fails then I assume some sort of legal action is required that will cost me a lot!

Is this a an RBS ploy to Fobb you off with a lower sum knowing what a huge pile of complaints is in the pipeline with FOS?

There must be a lot of members out there with a similar situation who can advise me which way to jump.

ON a brighter note have got a result on Nat West Credit Card of around £2,200 so just smiling on one side of my face at present and still waiting for Barclaycard to come back in a few weeks time.

Advice and experience on RBS situation appreciated

    Thank you my friends, :beer::beer:.

Now these 2 that Lloyds upheld on are from the mid 90's, so it just goes to show no matter how old, and I did not have much info on them either, but luckily the did know the loan amounts etc.;)

    Well done to you!

Yes that is rather annoying and to be told one thing and then told another its wrong, they should go by what they put down in concrete (black and white) and not mislead customers.

You can always point this out to the CEO's if they go past those timescales given, good luck and hope you receive your refunds very soon xx;)

Hi there and well done on your win:j
This all depends on the company,i believe they can use redress to clear arrears, was this cc included in the DMP? if it was they may be able to take this off that.
If they do,i think you should have the 8% back to you as this is not ppi, could you ring MBNA and ask them what is happening with this, especially the 8%.

    thanks for the reply amersall

phoned mbna today and was told the cheque will be sent directly to me.

they also said most upheld credit card ppi complaints get £0 of the 8% back as you have to be in credit to get this.if you have a balance on the card(which i always had-within limit)then your not eligible for it!!

didnt make sense to me either...

    Hi Tom

Yes you are correct in stating of the timescales with the FOS as they have a huge backlog to get through, and I understand as well, even though you have 6 months to decide on what to do, and if you make the complaint to the FOS, the FOS will still make the bank aware at the earlier stages that they have received a complaint (even before its passed on for adjudication) to what I am aware of.
So the bank may not deal with your case then.

I would ask them on a written detailed breakdown of how they did come to that figure, or bypass the customer complaint team and contact the CEO instead, and tell him that you are requesting for the full calculation of the breakdown and as a valued customer of the bank, you expect to receive this in the post.

I would otherwise see what others have to suggest on here.

But you are entitled to your own details.

Good luck and well done on your success.

Remember mistakes can happen as well, and they may still put it right for you if pointed out.;)
