May I ask if the refund of premium procedure becomes null and void if you have actually had to make a claim using the PPI at some point?0

I don't think if you have made a claim it makes any difference to you being able to claim a missale. I am not one of the experts somebody will be on later and will be able to give you your answer0 -
Hi, I just wanted to share my good news. I have a barclay cc and from sept 2005 to present I'd been paying a payment break plan of around £20 per month, when I became unemployed for about 7 months I tried to put in a claim, to which I was told on several occaisions that the PBP only applied in natural disasters!! and nothing else. I wrote a bog standard letter and yesterday I recieved a reply (well before the due date of reply) stating they were going to refund me plus interest. This news couldn't of come at a better time for me. Its a result and a massive weight of my mind. So keep up your battles and "remember every dog has its day and a !!!!! has two!" Good luck guys with your claims :beer:0

I don't think from claiming they can can refuse you if you believe you were mis-sold but think whatever you claimed they take off the amount you would get back - that's just going by various threads I have read though so sure someone with much more definite knowledge will reply to you soon. Good luck0 -

Hi
You can still make a reclaim, for example, the ppi may have covered you for one thing and not the other etc, and your paying a full ppi policy, and whatever reasons you may have.
If successful, however, the amount owed will be reduced due to a payout on a claim, but you can still of course make a reclaim with the reasons you have, good luck and ask for help from here if required.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

:jMy husband took out a loan with HSBC and has just received a letter confirming that they are going to paying back £13,786.59. It took one letter and the FSA's form and a 16 week wait.
The loan started in 2002 and was for £23,000. He was told no loan without the insurance. We finished paying the loan back in May 2010. Each month we were paying £99.97 for the PPI protection alone. We did try to cancel the PPI about 18 months after first taking the loan but the bank had refused to cancel so we accepted that and carried on paying. It wasn't until I started to read all the success stories on this website that I pushed myself into action and made the claim. My husband didn't think we would get anything back so we were both lost for words and delighted at the amount coming our way. The total PPI was £9,604.59 plus £4,182.00 in interest.
When my husband took the loan he was, as he still is, self employed and its very unlikely that had we needed to claim, we weren't covered anyway.
Just felt the need to share this with you all and not to delay with getting your claim in whether the loan is finished or not. In these tough times we all need every penny we can get.:j0 -

Mine was from 2004 -2009.
I am in a similar situation to yourself with a D. Perkins store card from 1991, the ombudsman is pursuing the underwriter with my complaint also.0 -
