Managed to speak to RBS today after only three minutes hanging on. Confirmed they received my acceptance letter on 05/09/11 and I would be paid out on 12/10/11 which is exactly 28 WORKING days after letter received so watch this space next Wednesday when it should be paid into my account.

Just one thing that I don't understand and wonder if anyone can advise me. It was a seven year loan taken out in DEC 2004 with first payment taken out in JAN 2005. The monthly payments are £478.14 of which £111.00 is PPI. When I asked if the last few payments would now be reduced the lady said that I only paid PPI for 5 years so my payments would remain the same till the end of the loan. My payments have been £478.14 for the past seven years and have never changed and I have never missed a payment. Did she mean I was only covered for five years? If so then that was NEVER explained to me. I did ask and she said they just spread it out over the length of the loan. Does that sound right? Getting back over £14,000 so am a happy bunny anyway.

    Hi there

It does sound like that doesn't it?

I would ask them for a copy of the policy document booklet details, for the loan you actually taken out, this should explain it more.

    Congratulations on your success.

You could always also ask them to send you a detailed written breakdown for your own records, this will show how they came to this calculation.

Lovely amount coming back to you though, so well done!:T:T

Has anyone got the email address for Black Horse?

I recently discovered that a joint loan (with my ex) had fallen into arrears. He was supposed to be paying it but....

I rang them to try sort things out and found out there was £5k ppi on the loan. My ex is self employed and the reason he had not paid was illness. He told Black Horse this but never once did they refer to the PPI.

So.....I made a claim with them about 2 weeks ago now and have not had confirmation of receipt of this claim.

However, since I contacted them, re the arrears of £2K, I have had at least a dozen letters from them.:mad::mad:

So I figured I would give them a taste of their own medicine and email them. :T:T:T

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi there

Totally flabergasted, just phoned First Plus to check how the "Offer" that the gentleman had told me to expect was getting along. Well that lady said to me there is no offer on the system as yet and there may not be as it doesn't look as if you have sent in the information we requested your FOS questionnaire, oh I said that has been sent in along with copies of the First Plus paperwork that I had initially received when the loan were first taken out, I gave her the relevant recorded delivery numbers oh she said this will have to go to the team to investigate but the Augustone that was sent to them has not been read yet soI will mark this one urgent. And heres me thinking all the things I will buy with the monies that I would be getting back. Then she said you may need to go to the Ombudsman as Dial4aloan were the broker. What do I do next please? 16 week deadline is up today. The lady told me to phone back on Monday

    Hi there

Sorry to hear of your ordeal here.

Its correct that whoever sold and set up the account is the ones you pursue, do you know if they're still active?

If so you can complain to them.

What year did you take out the loan?

If Jan 2005 onwards, and say for example they are not no longer active, then you can try the financial compensation scheme (FSCS), if the business then are no longer running, dissolved, they may be listed with the FSCS, if so you can try arranging a reclaim through this company.
    http://www.fscs.org.uk/contact-us/

Failing that, you can contact the FOS who will otherwise possibly suggest the underwriter/insurer of the policy as another avenue.

    Good luck.;)

Dial4aloan are not trading any more. The loan was taken out in 2003 and paid off in 2005. I just don't get how First plus say one thing and then it ends up another. Thanks I will wait and see what they come up with on Monday and then go forward.

Yes I know what you mean, and how annoying and frustrating for them to have done this.
Please keep us posted on this though, good luck and all crossed here x;)

Has anyone had any problems receiving cheque's from MBNA? I rang them today to chase up my cheque and they said it was posted on the 27th of September. Just wondering if it's a stalling tactic.
I chased them for ours on Thursday, they said it was posted on the Wednesday (I have to admit, I was sceptical!) but it arrived on Saturday, dated Wednesday.
    Hope yours arrives soon.

As you may have read we were rejected by first plus last month so with loads of help I sent them a letter back asking them to look into it again.

I also emailed Bob Diamond. I received an email last week from a lady called Pam saying they were looking into it again and just now have taken a phone call from Pam saying they have reinvestigated and agree that it was mis sold and a offer letter will be sent today or tomorrow.

    :beer::beer::beer:

Thank you so much everyone for your help

Di, Amersall, Niggly, nuttynat, cappo, conkerlily you're all fab!

No doubt I will be asking for more help when I get the numbers from them!

I was in a bit of shock when I took the call so forgot to ask if they are removing the interest from the remaining loan, never mind I asked her to put it all in writing for me. :D

    :T:beer::T:beer::T:beer::):A;);)

WOW I am so pleased for you hun xxx

It's my birthday today so I am late in catching up with the posts, you have just finished my day of nicely. I told you we would get there in the end. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy for you.

    Hi everyone,

After our 'knock back' from Nationwide re: complaint against mis-selling of a single premium added to a loan (with a couple of other reasons why it was mis-sold) I sent an e-mail requesting they look at it again (with your help & additional info that I felt they had overlooked). No waiting 9 weeks this time, they've replied in double quick time to say original decision stands & not even addressed the additional info.......not happy:(

Not giving in though because I know this was mis-sold so I'm going to send it on to the FOS.
Can I just ask,do I send a copy of the original FOS questionaire with copies of letters back from NW or is there another form to fill in and should I call the FOS first?

Anyone know how long FOS estimate it will take to look at?

Hope I have better luck with Barclaycard (decision due 12/10/11) & M&S (due end of Oct) but from what I've been reading recently I doubt it some how.

Anyway, Huge Congratulations to all those who have had good news recently . Reading all the success stories gives me the incentive to carry on!:T

    Hi hon

Oh I am so so sorry to hear this............the muppets rejecting your complaint.
I'm sure the FOS will sort this for you now, but still I know you could have done without this hassle.

I would also ask for further redress on the additional info on the complaint form, for the distress and inconvenience caused.

I understand though the complaint form you filled in you can send a copy, but personally I would complete the direct FOS complaint form as enclosed below, and send them a copy of the questionnaire sent to the business to cover your ground.

I understand there is a backlog with the FOS, so its difficult to predict a timescale, although they will at first try resolving this as early as possible in early stages, but if not it will be in line to fo to the adjudicator, this may take a little while, for example 3-6 months, and depending from there really, where it maybe resolved within that time for you, otherwise up to approx 18 months if then passed on to the ombudsman from the adjudicator, for example if the other side did not agree to the adjudicators decision, but they must comply to the ombudsmans decision.

    In word........

    Or PDF by hand

You will get through this, stay strong, good luck x:);)

Sorry to hear your news but don't let them grind you down ;), my Central trust case is with the FOS, it was logged with them in June 2011 and has to go to an adjudicator they sent me a letter the other week telling me it will be around a twelve month wait for this. Hope that helps, we just have to carry on fighting xx

    Hiya

Fingers crossed on yours too, that's not bad going with the FOS/Adjudicator, hopefully it won't be too long for your case to be resolved, 12 months is far better than 18 months by far.
Glad you posted up this for mumofjanda, cheers and good luck to you both xx;);)
