  • Has anyone got the email address for Black Horse?

I recently discovered that a joint loan (with my ex) had fallen into arrears. He was supposed to be paying it but....

I rang them to try sort things out and found out there was £5k ppi on the loan. My ex is self employed and the reason he had not paid was illness. He told Black Horse this but never once did they refer to the PPI.

So.....I made a claim with them about 2 weeks ago now and have not had confirmation of receipt of this claim.

However, since I contacted them, re the arrears of £2K, I have had at least a dozen letters from them.:mad::mad:

So I figured I would give them a taste of their own medicine and email them. :T:T:T

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Just heard today that I'll be receiving reimbursement of over £6,500 for a PPI for my HSBC Gold Credit card. I just wrote one letter enclosing the completed claim form downloadable from this site, and patiently waited the 16 weeks HSBC were granted by the FSC to deal with PPI misselling complaints.

Thank you to Martin Lewis and this website for giving me the encouragement and support to make a claim.:j

Managed to speak to RBS today after only three minutes hanging on. Confirmed they received my acceptance letter on 05/09/11 and I would be paid out on 12/10/11 which is exactly 28 WORKING days after letter received so watch this space next Wednesday when it should be paid into my account.

Just one thing that I don't understand and wonder if anyone can advise me. It was a seven year loan taken out in DEC 2004 with first payment taken out in JAN 2005. The monthly payments are £478.14 of which £111.00 is PPI. When I asked if the last few payments would now be reduced the lady said that I only paid PPI for 5 years so my payments would remain the same till the end of the loan. My payments have been £478.14 for the past seven years and have never changed and I have never missed a payment. Did she mean I was only covered for five years? If so then that was NEVER explained to me. I did ask and she said they just spread it out over the length of the loan. Does that sound right? Getting back over £14,000 so am a happy bunny anyway.

    Hi topkapi,

Do you know what the total ppi was and associated interest as per your agreement. I think in one of these case they should be giving you the whole lot back especially as you're 5 payments from the end.
The whole 5 years cover over the 7 year term was one of the big mis-selling complaints as it was unfair to charge you the interest for the full term of the loan and it also left you with two years where you weren't protected if you had needed to have made a claim against the ppi policy.
Your ppi payments over the 5 years works out about £6660, so another £8k in interest sounds okay to me, even if you cleared your loan you'd also save your 5 months payments too, or just enjoy the £14k and let it run it's course.
Well done on your win, hope i'm as lucky as that two have 6 complaints in with RBS, decision due next week.:D
Thanks to all the competition posters.
  • :j Applied for my husband's PPI refund with RBS 16 weeks ago. On Monday five offers were made to him amounting to over £12K! I've been following the forum over the passed 4 months and like to thank everyone who has posted their advice and experience on this site.

Totally flabergasted, just phoned First Plus to check how the "Offer" that the gentleman had told me to expect was getting along. Well that lady said to me there is no offer on the system as yet and there may not be as it doesn't look as if you have sent in the information we requested your FOS questionnaire, oh I said that has been sent in along with copies of the First Plus paperwork that I had initially received when the loan were first taken out, I gave her the relevant recorded delivery numbers oh she said this will have to go to the team to investigate but the Augustone that was sent to them has not been read yet soI will mark this one urgent. And heres me thinking all the things I will buy with the monies that I would be getting back. Then she said you may need to go to the Ombudsman as Dial4aloan were the broker. What do I do next please? 16 week deadline is up today. The lady told me to phone back on Monday

Sent claim for ppi on loan which we repaid early (loan out in 2005 and paid off in 2007). Sent off claim in June, final day for response was 4/10/11 received reply 3/10/11 talk about push it to the limit.

Just received settlement letter which states :
    A Original PPI policy £4898
B Interest Incurred due to PPI £616.51
    C 8% per annum simple interest £1352.22
    D Less early settlement £855.94
    F Value of refund (= A + B - D) and a separate cheque C = £4162.29
However, we assume they have transposed figures C and D, as the figures just dont work out, also the offer let states the £4162 plus cheque for £855.

Can someone please advise is the 8% simple interest correct ? and also they say they have deducted income tax in accordance with current tax legislation from the 8%, how can they do this ? they dont know whether I am employed, low tax bracket, high tax bracket or unemployed ?

They also say sign the acceptance form and a cheque will be with us in 6 TO 8 WEEKS !!! Is it acceptable to have to wait another 6 to 8 weeks on top of the 16 weeks we have already waited.
    Would appreciate any advice ?

    Thanks

Has anyone had any problems receiving cheque's from MBNA? I rang them today to chase up my cheque and they said it was posted on the 27th of September. Just wondering if it's a stalling tactic.
