PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Many thanks smitchy, much appreciated.
I've just used the online calculator and it came back with £4,507.18 so very close to what they've offered.
All signed and ready to go in the post tomorrow :j
Best regards
MBMeant to add you can use the bank charges calculator to work out your 8% statutory interest you should be getting back( I just didn't have time to put in the 56 seperate entries on it)0 -
Just wondered if anyone could help. I was told 8 weeks ago by the Ppi reclaim firm I used (Belmont thronton-do not use these guys) that I had won my claim (yippee) and got a letter from B.T. last week to tell me the settlement figure.
Then had a random call today from B.T. to ask if I was accepting the claim ?!?! I told then 8 weeks ago that I was accepting the claim
And they confirmed they had recieved this confirmation
Now, worryingly, due to this call I'm not sure what's going on...
If VM have issued a figure, does this mean I have accepted-I hope so?
Also does anyone know of a contact number for VM PPI reclaim as I can't seem to get thru and REALLY want to speak to them to get reassurance
Any help, gratefully appreciated0 -
Hi Katiebbb,
Can you tell me what email address you used for MBNA? I am in the same position as you with MBNA so would like to send a little chaser! I am also waiting on Halifax, sounds like we are PPI twins!
of course, it was:
ian.odoherty@bankofamerica.com
Still cannot believe how effective one little old eMail was! I double checked and the money is definitely in my account so they managed to do the calcs and arrange the transfer in a matter of hours.
As for the halifax - I have decided to phone every Friday for an update..... surely one day they will have done something!! Upheld on 26th August but their letter never came, copy took nearly 2 weeks to come. Then having been told I didnt need to send the acceptance form back, a week later they had no record of my verbal acceptance the week before so they hadnt passed it for calculation... so frustrating!!!
Where are you at with them??0 -
Hi,
I did post a few days ago but I think it got lost under all the successes. I received an offer from M&S on CC PPI which they broke down as:-
Total PPI - £1260.82
Contractual Interest £850.22
8% Statutory Interest £2.86
This card ran from Oct 2003 until Sept 2010 with varying balances up to £6000+
I am happy it has been upheld but there seems to be some disparity between how CC PPI settlements are calculated.
Do those figures seem about right or should I simply ask M&S to say how they arrived at them?
It says I have 6 weeks to respond with the suggestion the offer will be withdrawn if I don't agree to their figures.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Katiebbb, I will drop him a line and let him know that I have waited beyond the 6 weeks they advised it would take!
With Halifax, I am at the same stage I think. I got my letter from them on Saturday 3rd September and posted back my acceptance on the Monday morning. I rang them today and they advised they had received my acceptance but had no news for me and that I should call back within a couple of weeks if I still hadn't heard anything.
I am the most impatient person in the world, however with this whole PPI claim stuff I have been very reserved and patient. But it is starting to wear thin. I understand these banks have an awful lot of work to do to cope with the amount of claims they are receiving, but enough is enough! I'm not even going to get to enjoy the money, I am going to use it to pay off debts, but I really really want to know how much!!!:D0 -
Sorry not been here much again today but......
Congratulations to all today's winners, well done!

first post and unsure how this all works so be gentle please...
printed off and sent away 5 template letters from this site on 22nd aug. got 1st reply from mbna on 20sep saying cc complaint being upheld .
total ppi premiums £788.48
total interest £283.79
total 8%interest £0
it says on bottom of letter a cheque will be sent out within next 28days.as this credit card is being paid off through a dmp with the cccs will the cheque be sent to them instead.

This all depends on the company,i believe they can use redress to clear arrears, was this cc included in the DMP? if it was they may be able to take this off that.
If they do,i think you should have the 8% back to you as this is not ppi, could you ring MBNA and ask them what is happening with this, especially the 8%.0 -
