Iv been lurking around for a few weeks so i decided to send off a few claims on a few PPI i had
I had a few knockback BUT
I took out a loan for a car in 2007 and completed a questioner about PPI which clearly shows that i did not need PPI yet it was put on the loan, so i sent off my claim to Blackhorse.
I get a letter to day saying that they did not sell the policy as it was at the point of sale so are forwarding my letter to the place i took out the loan .
Quote:
As we did not sell this policy we do not consider that we are responsible for any concerns that you may have regarding the sale of this policy you may consider this to be our final response on this matter.
I think that as the place was acting as agents to sell this policy they should be responsible and should have regulated there agents
Any thoughts on this
If you dont hear anything within 14 days,i would put a complaint into the dealer yourself, but i think you will have a response from them after B H contact them.0 -
hi guys and gals ive finally got an amount from hsbc. started complaint just over a year ago and had to go to the fos because hsbc didnt reply in time. the loan still has about 14 more payments to make.
original loan was-11,300
ppi was-2780
totals including interest were
loan-15805.02
ppi-3888.16
62 payments at 13.9%
there offer is as follows
ppi redress 3,794.45
plus taxable interest at 8% 612.16
offer 4,406.61
less outstanding balance 4,009.72
total offer 396.89
there will be another loan payment this month so will they pay that back aswell. just wondering if this offer sounds right.
thanks a lot for all the help and info i have had. cheers laurence:beer:0 -
I wonder if anyone could help me and offcumden with the query on M&S calculations?
My figures were
£1260.82 for PPI charges
£850.22 Contractual Interest
£2.86 Statutory Interest
There were no details as to how these figures were arrived at but do they seem accurate? The CC ran from Oct 2003 until Sept 2010 with varying balances.
Regards

BUMP
Well I think I may be in with a chance of winning.
I received a letter yesterday, sixteen weeks after my original complaint stating that they are unable to respond directly on a case-by-case basis however, on this occasion they are prepared to uphold my complaint.
They go on to state that the offer £1771.42 will effectively return the premiums I've paid.
The breakdown of how the offer was calculated shows
Total amount of Insurance charged £1018.15
Contractual Interest £753.26
8% Statutory Interest £0.01
The CC account has been running since the 1990's and I have a
Certificate of Insurance dated May 2003 increasing the PPI monthly cost
to 75 pence per £100 outstanding balance.
Statements for March 2005 and June 2006 show outstanding balances of £3249 and £4400 with respective premiums of £23.89 and £34.16.
The Without Prejudice Offer letter does not give any detail as to how they have arrived at the figures or the period they cover nor any contact details other than a prepaid envelope. It does not state it is their final offer only that I may refer it to the FOS if disatisfied and that the offer will be withdrawn six weeks from the date of the letter.
I look forward to the experts thoughts and recommendations as I feel pretty certain that the amount offered is likely to have been understatedsomething missing0 -
I just want to thank you. I followed your instructions, it took me half an hour at the most and I got back £15,000 from the HSBC.
Half of this paid off what was left of the loan (which was for £25000). This has left me with an extra £500 a month to spend and £7000 in the bank to spend.
The bank was polite and efficient, I applied in July and heard this week that they would pay me back. I am so glad I did not answer the advert on telly as your instructions were so clear and easy.
Thanks again.:T

that all depends, if the bank CC company paid you net or gross......
id give them a ring.
you only have to pay tax on the 8% interest part of your redress:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim
