Just want to send a great big hug to all those who are sitting by the postbox every day waiting for responses from banks, loans companies and all the other slimy toads( apologys to toads) out there that are driving us all mad:mad:

Just had a rejection from barclaycard and still waiting for calculations from loans.co.uk that was due Monday.

Felt abit down till came back on and had a lift from reading posts here

Good luck to all and don't let the b's get you down:A
Have you tried ringing the Financial Omnibusman about your rejected claim. I too was rejected by Barclaycard but I rang the FSO and they are taking the claim up on my behalf because they think I have a case. Worth a try whats the worst they can say?

I'm sorry, but why should I have any concern for the banks in this regard. Thats no excuse for dragging their designer heels. :p

Read what I wrote again careful and maybe then you will understand the point that I was making. :p

    On a positive note...

I actually recieved my calculations for my loan PPI redress today. Letter was dated 15th of September.

I'll be recieving £1650 courtesy of Lloyds TSB. More than I thought, so pretty chuffed. Lets see how long it takes them to post out the cheque! I hope they get a move on as I've got a holiday to book. ;) :rotfl:

I'll have to find some of that patience that only_mee suggested. ;)

edit: Acceptance letter was logged with them on 30th August.
I couldn't agree with you more. The Banks have blatantly lied, dragged their feet, fobbed us off and taken our money without a care. There's a time for patience , I agree, but I think that time has passed and its not our fault that they now have thousands to deal with. Well done all todays winners and hope all those waiting (including myself) soon get their money:beer:
  • Hi again

Just rang First Plus again re ppi complaint response, waited the allotted 16 weeks, and told me should get a letter in the next couple of weeks or so. Is it just me but this just is not good enough! TOLDold me I coul go to the FOS, when I asked the lady what this would achieve, she replied nothing. Seems to me the banks know there will be no redress if they do not stick to the court rulings.
I was told that I would get an offer in the next two weeks from Firstplus my 16 week deadline is on 04 Oct. They said that it had went to the Ombudsman to get calculations done and that my offer would be on its way after that. I was hoping that was it done and dusted.

It's hard to say how much of a windfall you could get as you haven't posted any figures, but if succesful against all of your complaints, and depending on the figures involved yes you could be in for a hefty figure.
For loans you'd expect to get back all ppi premiums paid with their associated interest, plus 8% simple interest from when each payment was made.
Credit cards are harder to work out as they have to restructure your account from the beginning as if the ppi was never added, you should get back the difference of what your account was and would've been if the ppi wasn't there, plus when restructuring your account and if it goes into credit you get 8% interest on that, but make sure you get the card rate of interest returned, as this will more than likely be a lot higher.

Good luck and keep us updated, and if you need anymore help, let us know and we'll do our best.:D

PS we charge a whopping 0% on any win you receive.

Thanks for the information. I really do hope I'm successful, would make such a difference.

    There was a total of 8 loans and 5 credit cards. I've got figures for 5 of the 8 loans - £10k, £5k, £13.3k, £14.5k and £7.3k

However, I made the mistake of telling the wife last night that I'd been reading the success stories on here - she's already spending the 'winnings'

Early days though but fingers crossed indeed!!!

I'll keep you all in the loop but thanks again!!

Hope it is done and dusted for you, there is so much conflicting reports, I dont know what to believe. First Plus have only sent me one update in July. I seems you have had your complaint upheld with time to spare so well done, mine on the other hand is overtime.
  • my update on lloyds tsb: they wrote offer letter on 23rd august,, when i emailed them on 8th sept they said

I can confirm that all refund payments are processed and received within twenty-eight working days either from the date that we received the signed and dated acceptance slip or from the date that we issued the final response.

as yet still waiting on cheque and i didnt have to send in an acceptance form as they said if they dont hear from me then they will send out cheque

    hope that helps someone

    Hi
    Congrats on your successes
Just had a letter from Barclaycard rejecting the claim. Would you mind telling me how you applied for your barclaycard? Thanks

If I may I ask, what did you get rejected for? Put one in myself for a VISA card I had with them yesterday.

copied from the non sticky Halifax thread, a tiny little bit of hope, for those thinking they don't actually do anything!!!

Well, I decided to make a second call this week, after the helpful fella had apparently passed on my phone numbers to a manager.....and I got no reply. I'm not usually impatient, but i thought I'd be a little cheeky.

Yesterdays co-incidence was day 22, minute 22 of being on hold. Todays co-incidence was getting through to the same fella as I did yesterday:D (chances being slim with the likelyhood of 100s working in a call centre)
He had a look, and it has definately been passed on to the manager of the redress dept:T. My CC has been put through first....although, he did state, honestly, that doing that job can take up to three weeks, as they have to request statements from the archive dept. I understand from on here, that CCs can take some time to redress, as its complicated. He honestly didn't know if 'urgent' would make any difference.
He had to double check, he'd requested all five cases to be looked at as urgent, he joked he was ready to 'jump out of a window now' if he'd only requested one of my five:rotfl:

So, no news, is possibly good news, at least my day was brightened knowing there are helpful people in amongst the ones that don't care if theres nowt on the screen in front of them!!

For those wondering whats so urgent, my OH lost his job a month ago.....my overdraft of impending doom is on its last legs, and I'm tearing my hair out, as theres no pennies hiding down the back of the sofa!!!

Just had a rejection from MBNA saying that I had ticked the box. Does anyone know if the boxes were pre-ticked on the Virgin Money Credit Cards in 2005? Looks like it on the print out that they sent me and I wouldn't have ticked it under normal circumstances.

I have e-mailed MBNA CS and CEO again before going to the FOS as I have updated information such as them knowing I was a teacher and so the product was actually of no use to me and I have asked them to send me proof that I was shown information regaring the Ts & Cs before signing my application - as they have stated this in my letter.
    Egg PPI Refund - £897.52
    MBNA (Virgin) PPI: £6071.15
    MINT PPI: £3220.71
    Barclaycard PPI: Awaiting Info

    Running Total Reclaimed : £10,289.38 :T
  • Received a settlement letter for PPI on a Natwest loan this week for £10,700 - delighted as it clears the remainder of the loan. It will be so lovely not to have to think about that any more, fantastic. Letter sent beginning of May, letter states it will take up to 28 days for payment.

    It's made my day!
