  • Hi
Have only heard about the 40 days wait on this site.
Barclays have had our acceptance letter for 40 days today!..Still nothing.

They did give 10 days for the return of the reply which if they count from that then we are at day 36.

I think that someone should be publicly tackling Barclaycard about their poor performance here, in an earlier correspondence they said they would like to "resolve your complaint as quickly as possible". The lack of information and indeed access to the facts about what happens next is quite frankly very unprofessional. They should try putting information on their dedicated website, it may avoid unnecessary phone calls and give them more time to deal with complaints or is that too obvious. It might even save them MONEY!!!
Hiya i rang for two weeks constantly to see if they had recieved my acceptance form then on friday they said they had recieved it on the 6th the day after i sent it back :eek:the advisor said i should recieve the funds in my bank account by the end of the month surely they shouldnt be allowed to have any more time my 16 weeks is up before the end of the month:eek:

Hi,has anybody had any dealings with first national motor finance regarding ppi on a car loan.Any address or phone number would be appreciated. This loan was taken in 2001 so would it be worth trying to reclaim? thx all

    Hi there.

Found these details here, so hope this is the business your looking for.

    http://www.financingyourcar.org.uk/car/options/firstnationalmotorfinance.riv

    First National Motor Finance

    3 Princess Way
    Redhill
    Surrey
    RH1 1UR
    TEL: 0870 6007040

There is no harm in trying, if they say they were not regulated by the FSA, so the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) would not be able to adjudicate (if you needed to complain later on about them), they may suggest the FLA *Financial leasing Association*, if you google FLA, details of the business should come up, but going from others experiences on here the FLA are not that helpful.

So if any of this fails, still contact the FOS, who will consider then the underwriter/insurer avenue, as they would have been regulated.

More on how to reclaim below, reclaim questionnaire step 3, remember to keep copeis, good luck.

Can't believe it !!! after Barclaycard initially rejected my complaint , I wrote back to them asking to kindly re-consider .The reason they used to reject was that their accepted sales process at the time would mean that the PPI could not have been re-sold.
Sent the letter 14 days ago , also emailed the CEO to ask for his help , just rang Barclays to get an update , was told a resolution letter has been sent to me . The advisor very kindly read the letter back to me , I am to receive £16664 back !!!! .
This is my second successful claim , I am also due £10664 back from Barclays on a misold PPI for a loan .
Absolutely overjoyed with this outcome !!! I can never thank the people on this site enough for the help and guidance .
A VERY VERY BIG THANK YOU TO ALL
    :T:T:T

    Excellent!:T:j Congratulations!

I always say to keep trying, as sometimes the businesses will reconsider with any further information, well done to you!

I took out a personal loan with Lloyds back in 1997, I was told I needed PPI in order to have the Loan. In 2005 I lost my job and fell into arrears, I claimed on my PPI and I think they made about 6 payments. I had never defaulted on the Loan, eventually my loan went to debt collectors, Apex. I then started paying £75pm from 2008. To my knowledge the PPI is still running, The only thing I have is a letter from Apex with a reference number, would I be able to ask them to look at the mis-sold PPI and if so how would I go about it?

    Thanks guys, great site! :j

    Hi there

You can still make a reclaim and yes that is probably correct that PPI is still within the balance of the loan, so give it a go and tell them its absolutely worthless to you anyway, as your not going to be able to make a claim for sickness/unemployment etc, and tell them you were told no loan if no ppi when it was sold to you.

You still pursue Lloyds, the reclaim questionnaire is the same as on this site as on the lloyds, site, so I would follow the procedures directly on the lloyds website, good luck on your reclaiming.

    Hi everyone

Just wanted to post a success I have had with Citibank this weekend in reclaiming PPI.

Just a bit of background. I took out a £10k 5 year loan with them in Jan 2008 which included PPI. I was pressurised into taking the insurance and was promised a reduction in my interest rate after 6 months. Of course this never happened!

I only had the loan for about a year when I refinanced with a tesco loan with much better interest rate and no PPI

I never thought about the possibility of being missold but after seeing that a lot of the banks were refunding charges without argument I thought I has nothing to lose.

I sent off my forms on 5th July to Citifinancial and received my cheque on 17th Sept for £2,563!

I was only expecting a couple of hundred at the most, so I was very surprised! Given that I only had the loan for a year and my total loan payments were only £230 per month.

I have no idea if I could have been due more, I don't want to risk losing something that is quite a substantial amount to me.

If anyone is unsure whether they should apply or not, just go for it. It costs no more than a stamp!

I'm off to New York in 2 weeks so I will be doing a lot of shopping now!

Good luck to everyone going through the process

GREAT work!:T:j Well done and Congratulations!
    Very chuffed for you x:T:T

  • Hi there just a quick update on my offer. Ive just got off the phone to Lloyds TSB PPI Customer Relations who were far more helpful than I expected. The lad I spoke to was able to take me through the calculations in full and confirmed that my offer was based on ppi payments of 632 plus interest equating to the 1908 offered. I had been expecting more than this but they had applied full refunds between 2004 and 2007 when I cancelled and then applied refunds notionally between 1998 and 2004 based on a balance of 1000 which they had worked out as average. I was told that I could still challenge this if I had statements to the contrary or that I could do so through the ombudsman.

I also queried why they were sending me a cheque and not paying off the current balance on my credit card and was told that my balance had been substantially reduced due to the reconstruction and as such they were sending me a cheque for the rest!!

On the whole I am now quite happy with this result as my main aim was to reduce my balance on the card which I have been struggling to pay for a while now.

On the issue of timescale though he could not tell me when the cheque would appear or even give me a timescale for processing payments due to the high volume of payments they are making at the moment.

I am now eagerly awaiting my Husband's offer from Lloyds and MBNA:j
I would say however that a phonecall is definately worth it especially as it only took me 12 mins to get to speak to someone this morning but perhaps I was just lucky!

Now all that remains is to get my cheque but as optimistic as a feel this morning I am not holding my breath..

Thanks to everyone who assisted me XXX

Thanks di, yes this one works for the CEO - used that for another query I had with them recently and got a letter back the next day :)

Just wanted to chase my PPI up so was going to do what most people do and email the customer services address (if there is one) and copy the CEO in?
  • Thank you..

I'm still paying off this loan at £10.00pm .. I'm worried if I complain about the PPI they might try and 'up' the payments...should I let sleeping dogs lye??

    Hiya
Mine was a complexed case, and the business lender were Endeavour Personal Finance, where they used customer service of HFC, but the lender tried to blame the broker Click Finance for selling our ppi where all along it was the lender.

So with the broker dissolved, the FOS tried taking it the insurer avenue Hamilton, but its only now the lender admitted liability of the PPI/
HFC have fully taken over Endeavour, and even though the FOS has been dealing with this since 2009, I found more evidence since and sent to HFC, and this was resolved through a letter I sent them and not by the FOS.

So basically even though it was with the FOS, they were going the underwriter direction and I personally kept on at the lender.;)

I received an acceptance form in our case, and as soon as they receive it, it takes 28 days for them to refund the compensation to our bank account.

    Well done to you!

    Di3004,
Many thanks for your response. I have been to hell and back with HFC bank. Now that they have said they will pay out I am waiting to see what happens. I will write to them after 14 days attaching the FSO letter and asking when they will tell me how much they will pay. What started off off as a PC world loan for 1300 spiralled out of control with them inviting me for loan top up of 5000 that ended up with me paying them over 16000 in 41 months! Lets see what they offer. I emailed their customer services today and got back a response that the email is no longer active. I all call customer services in 14 days hopefully the FSO will have notified them of my acceptance. Thanks for your infer and congratulations on your win. Hopefully I won't have to wait much longer!
