    congratulations and well done--might seem a silly question but on what grounds did they uphold your claim
    1) were not told that the ppi was in effect another loan that was added to the original loan and was repayable over the loan term with interest.

    2) were not told that the ppi only covered us for 5 years, but the ppi would still be on the loan to term end with interest.

    3) were told that if we did not make a claim on the ppi ,after 5 years we would recieve the ppi as cashback, and to look on this as savings plan.. But were not told that the ppi would be on the loan to term end with interest and the cashback of ppi would not include the interest that we paid over the 5 years.

    These 3 would have helped.

    Started claim February 2011. Received settlement figure 3rd August, sent back acceptance forms on 6th August. Sent another set of acceptance forms back on 2nd September as they lost the 1st lot.

    Received payment refund today of £3,308.89 straight into my account. :beer:

    Since beginning of August and this Monday I must of called them about 7 times and I emailed Bob Diamond last week (not sure if that made any difference though).

    Thanks everyone for there help.

    Hi Littlehenrydog,

    They will all be upheld. In providing redress the banks will include all the loans in their calculations. They look at all the loans that you paid off before the end of their term by subsequent loans. The refinancing chain is looked at. I hope this helps.

    Thank you soo much just awaiting the letter but I did tick the box to notified by text with any update. I sent the acceptance back 27-08-11 so hoping to hear soonish :T

    Hi Ian,

    Congratulations on your win! Absolutely thrilled that Barclays have started paying out. My husband got a letter today telling him a figure and not how they arrived at it and stating he will be paid in 40 WORKING DAYS - he has to wait until 4th of November. He has emailed Bob Diamond zillion times and have been on the phone for hours to get to this - all for a claim that has been with them since Sep 2010!!! Enjoy your win!

    Hi Guys.....

    Does anyone know what this means, I cant seem to make sense of it :o:(

    Refinanced loan with Lloyds back on 2009 and received this letter;

    PPI value; 4300.92

    We have recently been informed that you have repaid your loan in full and that your loan insurance rebate of £2943.75 has been deducted from the settlement loan figure of your loan.

    The usual procedure is that a net settlement is used to close the loan; please see following illustration;

    * the settlement figure for loan is calculated
    * the insurance rebate is calculated
    * the insurance rebate is then deducted from the settlement figure
    * this then leaves the 'net' settlement figure, which you have now paid in full.

    Does anyone know what this means?? please :o:o
    Looks to me to be how they work out a settlement figure,have you asked about how they worked out the settlement,or is this in regards to a mis sell claim?.
  • Out of curiosity have just checked again and loan is showing again at the lower balance I mentioned earlier. They must be doing something with my account which is good but the figure doesn't seem right at all :(

    Ahhhh...sorted - its the bank charges reclaim I only sent off last week I never thought I'd get and with it being that fast I didn't know what it was :j

    hi jody,

    i hope you don't mind me asking, have you have your figures yet? did they take any money off due to you claiming on your PPI?

    thanks Lou
    If you made a claim on the ppi and you win mis sell,the money you claimed for will be taken off the win.

    Hope they are quicker with yours than mine. Sent mine to FOS in March and as yet they haven't even assigned it to a caseworker.
