    Hi,
I was wondering, I have had loans/ credit cards with Beneficial Bank in the past, and later had the balanced consolidated these debts into a HFC Loan, so to reclaim PPI, do I write to HFC Bank or to my local Beneficial branch ??

And does anyone have the address for HFC bank ?

    Thanks for all your help

    Hi there
I think there is a certain department for these, but some take the letters into the local branch and they will fax through, check with them first though, other than that I have this address here:

HFC BANK PLC CUSTOMER SERVICES MANAGER,
    CUSTOMER SERVICES,
    PO BOX 2445,
    BIRMINGHAM,
    B1 3PJ
    TEL: 0870 0100453

I would ring that tel number and they should confirm this to you, just to be on the safe side, good luck.;)

Hi guys just quick query hereI sent my letter off to halifax regarding miss selling of ppi on my loan,i have had a response saying we have decided to pay you all the ppi and 8% back.

it also says we will be contacting you shortly about the amount.

What i need to know is how long it takes to hear what the amount is and how long after their refund letter to actually recieving the money.

anyone who has successfully had there ppi refunded from Halifax would know this

    i really appreciate any info

    Hi
That is great news, I think it should be anytime now, maybe in the next weeks or so - maybe earlier, then you are required to sign to agree, and it can take anything up to 14 days maybe a 4 weeks (1 month) when they should pay this out, others here maybe able to rectify this for you.

    Well done anyway.:T

  • Hi everyone.

I posted on the PPi discussion thread a couple of days ago to see if anyone could help me with my situation and it was suggested by someone that I try posting on this thread as well so here is my situation:

Took a loan out in 2000 with my husband (now my ex-husband) with Nationwide. Was sold PPI even though we both had pre-existing medical conditions so I am claiming that it was mis-sold on this basis, and also because we were led to believe that it would assist our loan application if we took it out. Also PPI only covered first person on loan i.e my ex-husband.

Complained to Nationwide and was given final response to say basically you had terms and conditions and you both signed!

Have filled in comlaint form to FOS but have received it back so say 'it appears that both parties have not signed form. Please ask Mr N to sign form and return'

Can anyone tell me if they too have been in this situation. Mr N went to work abroad 4 years ago to avoid paying maintenance for the children and basically left me high and dry with large mortgage to pay, etc so I have no contact with him. It is me making the complaint for mis selling so does FOS still need his signature on complaint form?

Any help with this will be much appreciated.

    Hi there

Could you please tell me what you reason was for trying to reclaim PPI from Egg? I am currently trying to reclaim from Egg so was just wondering whether my circumstances were similar to yours.

    Hi WJ209980

The two fundamental reasons for my claim were:

It was implied that taking out the policy would assist my credit applications

I paid single premiums for my policies but did not see them through to the end of their initial terms after the paying back of the loans earlier than planned

I hope this is of help and that you are successful in your reclaim.
  • What were you reclaiming: Personal Loan
    Who was the provider:HSBC
How much did you get back: 2500 interest fee plus the ppi taken off the remainder of my loan meaning it has been restructured and the payments almost halved!!!
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Just took one single letter
Thank you for the advice! It was so easy and it has helped me pay alot of other things off

  • In Novmeber 2008, I sent a template letter of to the Alliance and Leicester reclaiming PPI on a Loan taken out august 2005 for £20,000 over 7 years. the loan was paid back after 27 months. By 06/01/2009, I was so mad as they hadn't even looked at it and they had 1 week to go before the statutory 8 weeks was up. I had made up my mind that I would go to the ombudsman if I hadn't heard any thing by 14/01/2009.

Well, work has got the better of me over the last 3 weeks and I've never completed the FOS form. Just as well!!! For today I received a letter from A&L offering me a reimbursement of PPI, Interest etc etc totalling £3914.81!!!

Thanks Martin and all the other money saving experts. Goes to show what can be achieved with a bit of PEOPLE POWER!!

I wrote off to capital one with the template letter from this site about ppi on a credit card.
They first refused to repay anything .So I sent them a second letter . I have just had a reply from them offering me back half of the payments +8% interest a total of £1500. Do you think I should hold out for the lot or accept there offer.

    Hold out for full payment.

Although I'm still waiting for ppi to be dealt with by FOS they ended up paying in full plus a little extra for charges so hang in there. Don't let them con you
    • What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
    • Who was the provider: HSBC
    • How much did you get back: Just over £1,300
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Sent 1 letter mid November, recieved a reply after a few days saying that my complaint will be answered within 4 weeks, after 4 weeks recieved another letter saying that it is taking longer than usual and it will be another 4 weeks. After 8 weeks i called HSBC and told them i will be lodging a complaint with the FOS, 2 days later recieved a letter saying that my complaint had been upheld, as well as recieving the PPi they also included £500 for settling the loan account early and around £300 interest..... Cheers HSBC! hahahaha.
Just put my acceptance form in the post but was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes from accepting the settlement figure to actually recieving the money in my account?
