  • Im a newbie, Ive had my letter from LloydsTSB saying they are refunding my PPI but my current loan is a refiananced loan. Do I get the PPI from just this loan or do they take into account my previous loan??? And how long from sending the reply slip to them do they tell you how much is the refund? Any advice would help thanks.
  • Hi, I'm new to this therefore i apologise in advance for any mistakes. I was interested to know if anyone else has had the same problem. Lloyds tsb's deadline to resolve my complaint was 31st august like many others, however they have not even sent a letter confirming if my complaint was upheld or not. After many phone calls I managed to speak to the complaints dept and they say they sent a letter to me on the 25th aug and it is not there fault if the post hasnt arrived. Although, all my other post has. I feel that this is yet anther delay tactic by them. Has anyone else experienced this and any advice would be much appreciated thanks.

Hope you hear soon, when you do get the letter it will be interesting to see whether the postmark on the envelope matches the date on the letter. I suspect a lot of letters were printed and sat in a pile for a day or two, waiting to be put into envelopes.

As far as the post goes, it doesn't seem to have quite recovered from the bank holiday yet. I'm waiting for things (not PPI related) which I know were posted on Friday and still haven't arrived.

    They *should* consider both loans

There are various timelines banded around, but calculation of the amount and payment usually seems to take between 4 and 8 weeks for most of the banks

Has anyone seen the MSE article on "Banks fail to meet PPI deadline" - they are claiming 97% of those on hold from the JR have been dealt with

I'm sorry, but from looking on here I think they are a "country mile" away from that milestone

Also the article appears to give the impression that settlement (as in "97% settled") means people have had upheld letters AND been paid, which we deinitely know is not the case

I'm not at all happy that MSE have just regurgitated the figures from a press release without first taking a "straw poll" from MSE members as to what has ACTUALLY happened rather than wwhat the FSA/Banks are trying to tell us (lets face it, thweir recent actions regards timelines seems to prove the FSA tends to fall far too often (though obviously not always ) on the banks side

So I've posted a detail comment on the thread for comments on the article and encourage you guys (and gals!) to do the same!

  • Hi Guys,
Not sure if I have come to the right place, apologies if I am posting on someones thread!

I have recently reclaimed for mis sold PPI that I took out on a FirstPlus loan that was settled early after just one year (full 12 months payment). I am unsure how much I should expect back as compensation.

    Loan Details

    Cash loan £35600.00
    The PPI loan was £8718.44
    Total Credit £44318.44
    Monthly PPI payments of £84.01
    Monthly loan payment £343.01
    Total monthly payment £427.02
    APR 8.4%
    Loan Term 180 months

    Settlement figure

    Total payable under agreement £75067.89
Less rebate on early settlement -£33096.57
    Plus admin charge £150.00
    Total payable to settle £42121.32

    The letter doesn't detail how much PPI was rebated. It states;

The rebate allowed has been calculated in accordance with the consumer credit (rebate on early settlement) regulations 1993, and include a rebate of the PPI premium (where appropriate).

Not sure if any PPI was rebated at settlement or not.

Hey all , am proud to say that i finally have my offer letter from Barclays/Firstplus and they are willing to "offer" me the grand sum of £7664.99. Also a interest payment on top of that which is £655.09 so a grand total of £8320.08.

Finally sorted. Thanks for all those who answered my questions and helped me on this quest.
One last thing though, seeing that others have had wrong offers from Firstplus, could anyone run through the figures i have and check if it sounds about right?

    A.Original PPI Policy £6975.50
B.Interest accrued due to PPI £1380.75
    C.8% simple interest £655.09
    DLess early settlement £691.26
    F.Total Value of refund=(A+B-D)excluding C £7664.99.

    Loan was for £35,000
    PPI £6975.
Taken out in July 2005 and settled in April 2008.Looking back in the paperwork from SAR request early settlement rebate was 691.26.
Dont know what else you would need to do the maths.

But the figure looks good to me :j

    thanks...
Love a win with FP :j:j:j:cool::cool::cool: excellent
foregone conclusion really :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: this ppi is a win

yea that happened to me they sent me another one in the post which arrived the very next day and guess what the missing one arrived with it. just got off the phone to them to find out if they had received my acceptance letter which i sent back a week ago and they said it has not shown up on the system yet they have a massive backlog so i think were in for a long wait they have to then calculate the figures and then process the refund:mad:
