PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi,
Can anyone help me?
Had 2 loans with Sainsbury's bank, one refinancing the other in 2004
2nd loan clearly has credit care gold and then interest on top of that:
A cash advance: £6750
B interest on C A £1464
C amount of creditcredit care gold(PPI): £2741.17
D interest on CCG £594.23
Total amount of credit A+C £9491.17
Total charge for credit B+D £2058.83
Total amount payable £11.550.00
APR 7.7%
Figures for 1st loan
A Advance £5000
B CCG(PPI) £2030.50
amount of credit £7034.50
total charge for credit £1667.10
amount payable £8697.60
APR 8.4%
What is confusing me is there is no interest being added on to PPI here, is that right or is it hidden?
Thanks
Hi,
just noticed your 2nd post in response to mine
Yes, it does look as though the interest for the PPI on loan 1 has been included in the total charge for credit
How many months was the loan over again?-
Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

Hi,
31st August is just the date they have to create and send the response by - so you have to allow time for the letter to be processed and posted before claiming they havent met the timeline (dont think I'm defending theem - I'm not)
So in reality anywhere up to Monday next week would seem likely
Also, that only has to be a yes/no response - from what weve seen, FOS then allow them more time (up to 8 weeks) to actually calculate the amount due and pay it-
Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

Got a phonecall from FOS yesterday stating that Barclays have rejected my claim, even though I'm one of the pre-20th April cases put on hold due to the JR. No reason given. Said that Barclays are also denying the "no quibble" statement. Apparantly, statement was worded badly and they don't have to pay anyone. So, FOS are now investigating.0 -
Hi all
I had my offer letter on 3rd August but conveniently there was no date that the payment would be made. Have made numerous phone calls to them and the 4 people I have spoken to have given different information. They received my signed acceptance letter on 9th and and the last person I spoke to said it would be paid 28 days after they had received the signed acceptance. My calculations mean that should be 5th September.
Got home last to a letter stating that the interest on my Barclaycard is changing from 27.9% to 29.9% - obviously their way of clawing all this money back. These banks are unbelievable.
I totally understand everyone's frustration and annoyance of not being given correct information and having to wait for what is essentially "our" money.
Come on Barclays - sort this mess out0 -
Pinch and a Punch it's the 1ST day of the month !!!!!!
Good Luck for September Ladies and Gents lets hope the big wins continue :T:T:T:beer:0 -
In addition to my other comment about this above, I have to say -
Since when did the Co Operative feature in the 16 week extensions?
In the FSA article here they detail; extensions for Lloyds banking group, Barclays and RBS
They then went on to grant the extension to HSBC as well (only "fair" I s'pose as they aslo took part in the unlawful Judicial Review hold on complaints)
But at no point have Co Op been granted the same, and there appear to be far too many finance companies attempting to claim they are part of this extension
Egg are obviously covered by the above extensions (for credit cards ONLY as I see it) as their credit card business now belongs to Barclays
Though obviously we cant complain about Egg loans as I think most people have found them quite prompt (around 6 weeks seems to be Eggs average)
RE The Co op bank, if you check there site there is a official memo from the FSA confirming there are on the extension, and the FSA have now confirmed this(I've been emailing both sides cause when I asked the FSA they said they weren't sure and would check- I spoke to the co-op and they went away to investigate from there side.
So unfortunately it is true- maybe cause the co-op are so backwards and can't deal with a big influx of complaints- not enough pens and paper:rotfl:0 -
Well done to all who have had upheld letters!
Just love reading all the success one's though till mine comes through.:money::beer:0 -
