  • I have a PPI Claim in with Welcome Finance took the loan out in April 2007 @ £257.50 over 37 months. I was told at the time that the PPI was compulsory in order to get the loan. I didnt have a clue what PPI was! If I had looked into it I would have realised I didnt need it as I was employed by Council, a job im still in, therefore receive full sickness pay etc.

Just wondering if someone can work out what the rebate may be on the PPI? I dont have any of the paperwork unfortunately! But the original loan was for £4000.

Just got a letter through the post this morning from MBNA saying that they are upholding my complaint!

Total PPI premiums charged : £893.07
Interest associated with PPI : £498.55
    8% interest : £920.89
    Total to you : £2312.51

    claims to date now reads:
    Halifax loan £1200
    MBNA Card :£2312
    ...EGG?...

    Another win for the consumer!

    Another RESULT!!!

Egg have just sent me a cheque for £760 for my Egg loan... Now all i need is the Egg card for a full house...

Has anyone had any joy from the Egg card, as all I had from them was a letter saying I ticked the box on line... Can I appeal?

Just spoken to my lovely HBOS claims handler and a letter was sent to me yesterday upholding all 7 loans and my credit card. :j:j:j:beer:

No figures yet, so looking forward to seeing them :T

This letter just asks me to accept and then they calculate.

But full contractual interest will be repaid. The Credit Card could be very interesting as the APR is around 29%.

I'm over the moon as this could have quite a large impact on my life financially :D

Well done Ian, good luck with this one and I hope you get just payments for all your hard work. Well done mate, and remember to post the winning numbers.:j:j:j
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Hi, no we never received any cashback....just a call asking if we wanted to renew it to which I answered NO! Sorry, I thought I had said in a post yesterday that it was a 5 year policy & ran out 2009. Too many posts so perhaps not - confusion reigns! lol :)
Hi there, did you get any no claims bonus with this ppi?.

Just received notification that Welcome finance have upheld the complaint. Considering I only sent this one less than 2 months ago I am thrilled to say the least. Need to make sure I get the letter posted tommorow and hope they stick to the promise of 15 working days after receipt for the BACs transfer. I wont belive its real til it hits the bank. :)

Did the CC company refuse to pay out then? Sorry to ask personal questions, but, as most of us on here probably feel, you and a few others are spurring us on to continue the fight and as MBNA have turned me down I would of given up if you guys didn't tell me to continue using the FOS as big brother.

These were one of my very first reclaims, and yes the bank did refuse, despite me being sold ppi when i was just then receiving benefits for the children.
The Adjudicator upheld in my favour.

Yet when it came to the loans (PPI) the bank upheld straight away).
