PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

good morning everyone, I have been a daily reader of this page, but not wrote anything yet as had nothing to report. Until today :-)
took out a loan with Llloyds Tsb in 2007, was told I had to take ppi or I could not take out the loan.
wrote my first and only letter 07/04/11, recieved a letter of comfirmation on the 14/04/11 then recieved 2nd letter 14/05/11 which was a statement outlining the loan and ppi repayments to date. 3rd letter 06/06/11 to advise it was still being looked at. 4th letter recieved today to make me a offer :-) ..... 4 months from start to finish.
Just wanted to share my story with you and thank you all. Although I didn't write on the board your advise and stories helped me along the way.

Not 100% sure but i think its interest from the date that you enter your complaint, ie, if they take 16 weeks you get an extra 16 weeks interest??? i think.............:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

Oh my gosh
, I called Firstplus yesterday, as my date is up next week, that they have given me and of course I had heard nothing. The call centre staff told me that my final response could go beyond the 16 week limit, alarmed by this I emailed Mr Bob Diamond. I had a phonecall from his office this morning. The lady who called me told me they have to respond to me by the 13th Sept and they are not allowed to go passed the 16 week rule and she would be making sure no call staff would quote that to someone again.
I was also told she would be personally keeping an eye on my case and she gave me her no and said if I have any problems with Firstplus to contact her directly and she will sort it out and she will be keeping a close eye on my case. :T:rotfl:0 -

So they said they expected to "settle" by 8th August - well, that date's been and gone! I phoned them on Friday, and apparently they are going to write to me again, and give me a NEW date by which they have to settle. Surely this is a letter I should have received by 8th August? And if Capital One can settle up within 3 weeks of initial letter, what is wrong with Egg - and First Direct for that matter? How come it's taking them 15 weeks or so... Cynical game-playing, do we reckon?0
