Many thanks, I do have the original paperwork which shows the ppi amount paid. Is it best to ring them or write to them? I'm just scared they will challenge me on the phone and I'm not good at confrontation!!! I believe the reason for mis-selling to be that we were not told it was optional and were not told about any colling off period, also both myself and my husband had employment where our employers paid good sickness, redundancy and death in service packages - of which we were not asked if we had any alternative cover. Are these reasons enough to warrant a claim?

    Di x
Hi Di,give them a ring, they are not monsters!!,all they will ask you are the account number address and reasons you were mis sold,
you have given reasons above for mis sell, did you look at the link i gave you for other reasons for mis sell?.
Ring them and get your claim moving, there is nothing to be worried about.

Well got a letter from the FOS saying they can go no further with my complaint at this stage as PaRAGON were not regulated by them at the time of the loan and they were unable to trace the underwriter however if I can provide the underwriters details, they can pursue a claim against them.

Well, I don't have the paperwork for this loan but just phoned Paragon who advised me that my policy was underwritten by Aviva and gave me the address and telephone number. Unsure why the FOS were unable to get this information?:(

Anyway, as far as I recall, I got the Loan from Paragon directly. I have a feeling this is not going to be successful.

    Anyone any experience with this?

    Thanks :)
This is not the end, give the insurer details to the FOS and they will chase them.
Did you give the FOS the account number for Paragon/ as this is the account number they will chase.
How long have you been on with this now?,this loan was obviously pre 2005 and your first complaint should have been with the insurer at the beginning.
Anyway, give FOS the details and they will do the claim for you x.

I have now contacted Barclays CEO after seeing all the successes others have had from doing this. I have been with Barclays for 20 years and still bank with them, maybe this will get things moving!
Just to let you know Bob Diamond is on holiday for 2 weeks, you will get a generic reply, your claim is being dealt with blah blah blah.
If you are lucky and get someone to speak to they will only look at the claim and the august deadline is nearly here anyway.

    Hi
Just a comment about e mailing ceo at Lloyds, Ive done this with a copy to customer services. You get back a pretty standard sort of response. I sent one last week and they didn't answer my question which was about progress of my claim so I e mailed back and told them it hadn't really been answered and they replied again but it just seems to amount to waffle and no real answers. But don't let that put you off, its worth a try. You may have more luck than me:)
Osario wont be railroaded,he is letting claims take their course at the moment,
The august deadline is nearly here anyway.

Thanks IANC. The breakdown they sent did not mention anything about a rebate having been made for any of the loans during the consolidation. I am hoping someone knows what this consolidated accrued interest will be that they will add once they get my acceptance form.

Look at loan 2 for example.

Over £3k of PPI and a refund of around £400.

The loan only ran a few months, so when they calculated the redemption figure, it will have had a rebate of most of the loan interest and most of the PPI and associated PPI interest.

Thanks, a friend of mine has claimed refund of ppi recently and he gave me the e-mail address of the halifax ceo so I have e-mailed him. Should I fill in the questionnaire, send a letter or phone too or will this just be overkill at this early point? Di x
