stay calm im sure you will hear something very soon :D

as it goes i heard this about why there is the new 16 week rule......

All the banks are being auditted for their moody ratings and that this is being done at the momment and if the banks are downgraded etc, due to loss of profits etc, they are unable to be bailed out by the tax payer and so big trouble.......

Dont quote me as i have no idea where i read it now but it seems likely that we are being fobbed off with, there are so many complaints we need more time, when really its to cover the banks own backs again???????

as i say i cant back this up with evidence, so take it as just chitter chatter but will be interesting to know more if the wise are out there ;)

    MM,

I think the only edvidence you need for the above is to look at Santanders complaint handling - averaging 1-2 weeks from start to payout for the vast majority of complaints (store cards being the exception to the rule)

If all of the big 4 could react like this there wouldnt be a problem

Again (sorry, stuck record....) the regulators are not helping and IMHO are a toothless, useless bunch that just seem to bow to the banks whenever there is a problem

We may have "Won" the JR, but you cant help thinking there was something going on there as the common man/woman in the street is constantly being fobbed off with increased timelines

1 year ago it was 8 weeks timline on FOS rules, start to finish

Then all claims (Barclays/RBS/HSBC/Lloyds anyway) were placed on hold both during and after the JR (so, what - 5 months down the plughole there)

Now the FSA have the outright audacity to say the banks (those in the JR, that actually caused all the grief to us) can have an extension to 16 weeks instead of 8 weeks and tha gall to say its "in the consumers interest"

Then the FOS add insult to injury by allowing a further 8 weeks (possibly 12 now judging on a few posts here recently) for them to calculate the amount owed and send a cheque

The whole thing is a bl@@dy disgrace and quite clearly FSA are acting in self interest, not ours (but then, what would you expect from a load of executives that want nothing more than a nice tasty position on the board of a major/minor bank?)

Not big on conspiracy theories but you have to wonder

    :(

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

Given the 1,000's of cases they are dealing with each week, yes

Its not like your letter gets opened and dealt with immediately - it may take months for them just to look at the details, investigate and find you had no PPI

I'm in no way saying this is acceptable - to me its a disgusting state of affairs, but it DOES happen

The one I'm not sure on is a Barclays CC. Got the letter saying would get the goodwill payment etc, so just presumed they had checked PPI on account, but maybe not!

I think I am just more frustrated with myself to be honest. I got the credit card I am claiming for when I was 18 - in a Bank of Scotland branch. The women told me, because of my age, I should add the PPI, also it would help me get the application approved! Never 7 years paying PPI that I didnt need! It wasn't until I am sitting watching Martin Lewis talking about it when I though I I wonder if I am still paying PPI....... nearly £50 a month! I totally forgot I even have it. I dont pay much attention when the statement comes in as my husband deals with all that! I'm a bloody mug!

What were you reclaiming: Egg Credit Card PPI
    Who was the provider: EGG
How much did you get back: £598.03
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: I received the money after I complained to Egg directly
And then write your brief reclaim tale: I thought I give the PPI a try after reading the success stories on the Money Saving Expert website. I previously complained to Egg but was turned down. I had a credit card with about £2,100 which I recently paid off. After this I deceided to give my claim one more try. Within 3 weeks I received a cheque of £598.03 (CRP premium paid + Refund of interest + interest of 8%).

    Thank you Martin Lewis!

I am currently waiting for my reply from Lloyds TSB where I complained about the PPI for my loan. I will also do the same for the PPI on my Lloyds credit card.

Can anyone help me calculate how much I am due back. I took out a loan in march 2006 for £ 14000 which also had Ppi on top of that that cost £3064. (total amount £17064) I paid £375.00 per month for 60 months and I paid off the PPI first. I finished paying off the loan march this year. I'm not sure how you work out how much I am due back from barclays?

I can certainly understand your frustration on this, and hey you are no mug.;)

I remember my son coming home all happy, he bought a prom suit from Burton's store, as he was in the last year of the sixth form, and then off to uni full time, he said about the good deal on the ppi he was told he was to purchase, like hell, I thought he would have learnt something from me to be honest, but anyway that was finally resolved because I put in a reclaim for him, think my son knows better now.;)
