After another phone conversation with Bank of Scotland I am even more frustrated!

There is just under 2 weeks to go before the 16 weeks is up and still nothing, I just keep getting told it is at the review managers etc!!!

stay calm im sure you will hear something very soon :D

as it goes i heard this about why there is the new 16 week rule......

All the banks are being auditted for their moody ratings and that this is being done at the momment and if the banks are downgraded etc, due to loss of profits etc, they are unable to be bailed out by the tax payer and so big trouble.......

Dont quote me as i have no idea where i read it now but it seems likely that we are being fobbed off with, there are so many complaints we need more time, when really its to cover the banks own backs again???????

as i say i cant back this up with evidence, so take it as just chitter chatter but will be interesting to know more if the wise are out there ;)

should be a millionaire by the time i have finished been a silly girl in my youth and now i'm paying for it.

keep up the good work everyone, I will probably need your help in the next couple of months.

    thanks in advance

if you had sent a letter off believing you had been missold PPI but were not really 100% sure it had been applied to your account as no documents, do you think they would make you wait the 16 weeks to tell you you had no PPI or would they just write to you straight saying you didn't have it - does this make sense :rotfl:

Given the 1,000's of cases they are dealing with each week, yes

Its not like your letter gets opened and dealt with immediately - it may take months for them just to look at the details, investigate and find you had no PPI

I'm in no way saying this is acceptable - to me its a disgusting state of affairs, but it DOES happen

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

Yes, he's the guy I'm dealing with. He is actually a decent bloke and has acknowledged the fact that I have a valid point.

I have a similar ongoing complaint with HSBC(Credit card ppi)
They up held my complaint and offered 6 years ppi - in line with the records held (yeah right) + 8% simple interest
I sent them 20 years statements and they re-calculated my redress accordingly but still only with 8%.
I have talked to them about the contractual rate interest and like you ,admitted that I had a valid point but stated that they dont normally do it that way?(I reminded them that was how the FOS guidelines say it should be done)
They are now recalculating the claim - so I am just waiting to see what they come back with.

    Will let you know.

It has been a long road to get to this point(claim commenced sept 2010),including SAR's complaints to FOS,CEO and ICO.

Its just very annoying, after all it is our money they are sitting on!. I know its only four/five weeks away until they legally have to have told everyone by but come on what are they doing with our claims!

I dont think i posted in this one before as i hadn't had success or failure with my MasterCard PPI claim. It got referred to the full 16 weeks and last week received an offer of £400 which £150 of it was interest.

So i'm pleased with that, my claim was never going to get the amounts that those who kept balances on their cards or had loans. So it turns out PPI for the last 10years for me became a 'regular saving account' with 8% interest :D

    Well done to you!
