Hiya
Banks can differ from one to the other, some can take 7 days, or even 28 working days as from the date they receive your signed acceptance, give them a call and they should be able to confirm, good luck and well done to you.
Thanks Di. I just gave them a ring and they said they have the final figures from head office so they should be able to finalise in around 10 working days0 -
Hi all. I am a first time poster but without this forum i would never have put in for a claim. I phoned santander complaints on 26/7/11 about 2 loans i had from 2005 & 2008 with A&L. On saturday 30/7/11 i received a letter from santander offering me £2268.37 on the 1st loan. Still waiting to hear back about the 2nd. I am delighted with this and cant believe the quick response. Good luck to all today, hope there are many wins.
:T:TCongratulations on the first one and good luck for the second! Well done you!:T:T:beer:0 -
Hi
It may be different for different banks but my ppi cc reclaim originally went onto my cc to bring the balance down, and then 3 days later they reversed it without telling me and when i called them to ask what had happened they said they had to pay me by cheque instead so i benefitted from it,
So as i said it may not be the same for all banks but just be aware xx
Think about it.
The banks are getting screwed for millions at the moment.
If they repay the credit cards, they know that many people will cut them up.
So, not only have they lost the money they give to you, but their revenue will decrease massively through loss of regular interest payments.
If they give you the money and leave a large balance outstanding, they know that a large % of people will go on holidays, buy a new car etc and they will recoup the money they give you through the interest they receive on your outstanding balance.
It would be prudent to either clear the balances yourselves, or at the very least pay a large chunk off, or you are allowing the banks to win all over againIs there a direct number for HSBC to contact them on for PPI complaints? I know the Telephone banking option is not helpful at all and its like talking to an alien with them!!! So there must be a customer service or PPI linked help numb @ HSBC... i am eager to know the payout! xx
Not sure I am supposed to give this guy's number out, but seeing as my claim is now finished, and he was extremely helpful, what the hell :rotfl:

Hello all, i have several claims going on at the moment. I emailed all the ceo's on friday and again on saturday, this morning i received a reply from Mr Patrick Smith, the ceo of swinton group. He informs me that his executive team shall look at this asap and also he is surprised i am claiming because swinton didnt offer ppi on loans back then ( This is from 2002). I have my documents here that clearly state i have "COMPULSORY MOTOR INSURANCE PROTECTION"
The interest rate on this is 34.6%. Will this ( if i am successful) be included or just the 8%???
Can anyone help me please:o0 -
I'm very happy to report that my claim (a loan & a HSBC credit card) has been upheld by HSBC.
I had to go the full 16 weeks & I did have to contact them a couple of times to make sure the ball was still rolling.
When I took my loan out a while back I was advised that I was more likely to be successful with my application if I included PPI. With the credit card, I did not even realise they had applied it! I was young when I first got the card so just assumed it was compulsory monthly charge.
I'm very happy with the offer & I will be accepting it. Is anyone able to explain more about having to pay tax on the interest (from the 8% compensation)?Current redemption date - 2044!
Mortgage 1 - 2.5%, end date as above
Mortgage 2 (top-up) - 5.19%, overpayment of £50 saves us £14,500 in interest & pays off 9 years early0 -

This is quite normal I'm afraid.
Very few will calculate interest and repay/close a card.
Normally, you clear the balance and then you are left with how ever many days interest from the previous statement to the date you paid the balance.
Then once that is paid, account closed.I'm a secret crime fighter0 -
