Does anyone have any idea of the time scale for NRAM to put money into the bank?
We got our offer letter on July 12th and sent our signed acceptance back the same day.0 -

Well after watching Martin on Watchdog in early June my DH said he had a 5 year loan back in 2004 which he was told at the time he could not get without the PPI. This was with NRAM. So i decided to act!
- What were you reclaiming: 10k Loan with 3300 PPI paid
- Who was the provider: NRAM
- How much did you get back: £4735.91
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Sent a letter 15th June, received a letter in 14 July saying they are still looking into it. On Thursday (28th) we got an offer letter :j
Thanks Martin and everyone here!0 -
Hi, I took out a £2,000 Buy Now -Personal Loan from Lloyds TSB back in 2003.
And i have only paid it off late last year.
I felt years ago that it should of been off a few years ago, and i phoned them to ask how much was left owing on the loan and they said £1,000... I couldn't believe it. But did nothing about it.
I had worked it out that i was paying back for more than double the amount of how much the original loan was worth.
NOTE- On my original contract which i'd kept it didn't state on it how much i would be paying back overall for the loan which included the cost of the insurance as well... And this was the point which i contested over eventually, and won with i feel.
It wasn't until i went onto this website middle of 2010 that i saw that people like me who felt that they had a case of challenging the banks who had mis-sold them a loan.
I checked the checklist on here to see if i was eligible to make a claim, and i thought i was.
So i printed out a copy of the template provided from this website, i filled it out and then posted it off to Lloyds bank.
Over the following 3 months i received a couple of letters from Lloyds saying they'd received my letter and saying that someone would be in touch.. Then another month an a half went by then another letter arrived saying they were waiting for the outcome for the banks of what was going to happen in the courts. When they knew the outcome they would get back in touch.
And then last month June 2011, i received a letter from them, this time saying that if i didn't contact them and contest, that they would pay me £2,334 and put it into my account.
The letter contained no apology at all, it was very 'matter of fact' and 'business like.' I didn't reply back as i happily agreed to receiving my 'sneakily taken' money back.
I didn't think to be honest that Lloyds would pay me what i felt they took from me, but they did and i was very pleasantly surprised and felt overjoyed..
Thank you, thank you, thank you 'Money Saving Expert' for offering the tools and advice for people like me, for which i wouldn't have known what else i could have done in raising my concerns about the loan which i was sold.
Best Wishes to everyone who was, or who is in my boat.

Hi,
when in 2004 was the loan taken?
Only ask as 8% interest on £3300 from June 1st 2004 to 28th July this year would be £1889.95
Meaning the total payable to you would be £5189.95
If your loan was taken prior to June 1st 2004 I'd ask them to check their figures
You can put your actual dates in HERE (inserting "8" as the interest rate)
-

Yes 8, spread out over 11 years. When i look back now at each agreement, We must of been mad to take the loans in the first place, But we are all young and stupid at some point . 2 of the loans were only £1000, but there are also £12500, £9800 and a £7500 loan amongst them too. I still have one loan and do have arears, so im expecting a chunk taken from me before i get it0
