    Hi
    Thank you for your information.

I tried the no you gave above this morning are A&L loan finished in 2000, the lady tried to trace mine but nothing could be found. I was told that the accounts that were closed before Santander took over did not get there details passed over. I was told i could try writing in but was not given much hope for that.

That again is clearly rubbish, otherwise they wouldnt have found mine

I think you need to try a Subject Access Request, but do it for "any and all data" they hold on your for both your current and any previous address?

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

Amersall, I rang the FOS today and the gentleman I spoke to said he couldn't comment on an individual offer but he did say that he didn't think I should expect anything for the years since the loan ended.
Feel like I am being greedy now it's just that I'm sure people on here have reported getting redress in such circumstances....must of dreamt it!:rotfl:
This is what baffles me too!!! i was told that you get the 8% from loan/cc start until the day your claim is paid up, hopefully whoever calls you back from Santander will get it right?.
Ooh what a to do :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Lets hope we get clarification on this.

good morning everyone ok so after my result from santander regards my ppi payments on my burtons menswar account and the refund not sounded quite right i requested a break down from the complaints department

date of first premium charged 17/9/1996

date of last premium charged 17/5/2007

    settlement date 28/07/2011

    total insurance paid £296.45

    TOTAL KNOWN PAYMENTS £30.07

    appointed interest £296.45

total estimated interest on on premiums £390.11

total interest on use of cash £486.00

    premiums charged £296.45

total to refund to account £1172.57

    use of funds 8% apr

    interest rate applied 29%

    days to pay 25

    average repayment min 4%

    number of premiums taken 129

sorry this is so long winded right so santander claim that they dont have any info pre 2005 ie how much i borrowed between 1996 and 2005 so they have worked it out on a average so the top amount i owed between 1996 and 2005 they have worked out was £115  which is a total load of carp because i know i owed £2000 between 1996 and at least 2000

looking at the print out the only repayments they can find on the account apparently are between 17/09/05 and 17/05/2007

I put in a claim for my PPI on my Mortgage with Abbey (now Santander). Originally they sent me a letter back saying that I did not have a policy with them, although I put my policy number on my claim, they quoted a different one when they replied. I called them and told them they were wrong, they apologised and said that they would look into it again but the outcome would be the same....... about a week later I got a letter to say that they would refund me £9600! I accepted this as I was suprised to get it. About a week later the money was paid into my bank account. I had been paying for 12 years and this was around £6k pay back and the rest on interest. Thanks to this website!! :j

Shall I quote from the FOS handbook on redress for you and then you can point this numpty in the right direction.:rotfl:

As described in DISP App 2.5.4G, the refund is the return of all payments made on the payment protection contract to date (plus any historic interest) and 8% simple interest on each monthly payment, from the time each payment was made to the time the refund is paid.
