Thank you for all of your replies! I WILL NOT USE A COMPANY and i have now gone through my credit check sheets to try and separate them all and have got the addresses off the sites. The next bit now i guess is to do am template letters for each one.
I just get so confused and harassed easily as i have mental health problems and it all seems so daunting!!:(
Hi there
You will get through this and questionnaire's replaced the template letters, so below on step 3 are the questionnaires, if all with the same bank and you have the same reasons for being mis sold, then one questionnaire will do, but remember to give all details of each account number.
However, keep loan ppi separate when reclaiming to credit card ppi on separate reclaim questionnaires.
But otherwise if different banks, then these will have to be separately, you can do this.;)

Help written to santander (alliance & leicester) regarding an old loan taken out in 1999, dont seem to have any paper work and they have replied saying because the loan was taken out over 6 years ago they have no records of this. What do I do next???
I rang the PPI complaints dept.at Santander last Thursday with just my loan account number, just to ask if they could trace my loan to tell me whether or not I had paid PPI or not. The lady I spoke to was more than helpful, she took my details and asked for my reasons for mis-sell if she found I had paid PPI. Took this Alliance and Leicester loan out in 2000.
.Phone call took 10 mins and Saturday morning I had a letter offering redress for mis-sold PPI!!!!:j
I had previously sent a letter requesting info and didn't even get a repy and I had also spoke to the loans dept. who said they couldn't find anything.
Try just ringing and have your reasons for mis-sell ready!
Good luck!!0 -
I have been following this thread for about the past 100 pages. I have lodged a complaint with santander regarding a debenhams card. I have read with interest that some people are saying that Santander are not paying out on cards but others that are. I am really confused as some people seem to be saying one thing and others saying another.
Any ideas anyone?0 -
£1233 X 8 % SIMPLE yearly = £591
£20 montly ppi x 8%/12 x 60 months etc =£ 279 on yearly interest
Total payable = £870
Thats my calculation

Hi Niggly,
Thanks for the reply!
Is this for the 60 mths that the loan ran for so that I should get the £1233(PPI premiums) + £870(8% interest) and nothing for the nearly 6 years since the loan finished. I'm more than OK with this, just want to make sure it is right!
As Amersall said can't get my head around what period we are entitled to 8% interest for when the loan ran it's term and finished a while ago.
Amersall, I rang the FOS today and the gentleman I spoke to said he couldn't comment on an individual offer but he did say that he didn't think I should expect anything for the years since the loan ended.
Feel like I am being greedy now it's just that I'm sure people on here have reported getting redress in such circumstances....must of dreamt it!:rotfl:
Anyway,I rang the lady at Santander back and she understood exactly what I was asking and said she would refer to someone who would know and ring me back tomorrow.
Scared now she rings back and tells me that having looked at it again I'm getting nothing:eek:
Even when I get one upheld I'm stressing!!!!!:o0 -

Well done you!
Take your time - do them one at a time & shout up if you need help...there are many great people on here who will help.
Once you have done one or two you will soon get the swing of it.
Good luck.

Why should the FOS bite the hands that feed them?.
There are people on here who can work the 8% out, and know from when and to it is paid, they will help the poster more with this.
Agreed - but it all seems a little too contrived to me.
BBA action / JR .......Bad Bad Banks, then when the banks lost...it seems that whatever the banks say is taken as gospel now by FOS.
I have had it on three or four seperate occassions now.
Like you say - why would they bite the hand that feeds ,even though it cost them a reputed £60million + in court fees in the recent action....?
If anyone can work out this 8% - or at least knows what it should be applied to in relation to credit card PPI claims I would love to chat to.
MBNA say it is only due when the total of the PPI premiums is more than the outstanding balance on the card.
Fine - however they are happy to refund the associated interest applied to the premiums compounded which obviously outweighs the balance of the card much more quickly than the value of the PPI premiums on their own.
Therefore my point is the 8% should 'kick in sooner' - no can do say MBNA ....FOS say this sounds about right?
How can it be correct is my question when they charged me PPI premiums and added interest to them.
I want this back and when the cumulative total is more than the outstanding balance I want 8% on top of this in compensation for being denied the use of this money.
Am I missing something here?
All comments greatly appreciated.

Hi there
Wishing you luck on your reclaiming.
Everyone reclaim and mis selling reasons differ, and it seems that they are rejecting complaints if they were not regulated when the policy was sold, so it could be the fact that some were sold the product pre Jan 2005 where the FSA came into regulating financial businesses, and the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) are only able to investigate complaints if the business was regulated at the time you taken out the policy.
However, if this reclaim fails, call the FOS anyway who will possibly suggest taking if the underwriter/insurer direction.

I too have had recent success with them on an old 1995 credit card (ex A&L now MBNA) and they have been very helpfull and generous in their settlement offer.
I did have all the paperwork though.
Good Luck
