    Interesting -

Can someone clear this up for me - I was under the impression only Lloyds Group, HSBC, Barclays and RBS had been granted the extended timeline (due to the JR hold ups) - yet every man and his dog (bar a few) seem to now be hiding behind this 16 week deadline?

I think there is a list somewhere, maybe on the FSA website perhaps.;)

  • Hi, I am looking for some advice. I submitted four PPI claims with The Bank of Scotland. 3 in paper from 1 over the phone. I have just been told that all the data gathering has been done and I should hear in the next five weeks.

But I am not happy with this. I have been waiting for ages!

One of the claims is for a a credit card which I have held since I was 18 - I am now 25 and have been paying PPI on it for all this time!

I want to know what the decision is!

Records that are older than 6 years, will be held on a VDU, which means that somone will be manually going through every transaction on people's credit cards that date further back than this.

This is what is holding up complaints at the moment.

You need to be patient, as the entire nation has sent claims in all at once and I would rather they calculate mine properly than use estimates etc.

    I'm at week 11 now.

So the very maximum I will be waiting is 5 weeks as well.

    My card is from 1998

Oh and 7 loans over the same period.

They are dealing with claims in strict order of receipt, so you are nearer than me.

It will be worth the wait :D

  • Hi all,

Looking for a little bit of advice. I'm about to try again and reclaim my PPI from a HSBC loan in 2007 (yes, I know I'm in for a looong wait! :p) So I want to get the ball rolling.

I want to make sure that the info I send through is clear and accurate. I want to avoid as many back and forth exchanges as possible.

Firstly if I request my SAR will it specifically tell me a) the PPI premium top-loaded to my loan or b)the total amount I paid in premiums.

As don't know how to work out what is due back to me as there are several ways. (I'd like to get the highest amount of course :D)

All I know is when I cancelled my PPI part way through the loan because they wouldn't let me claim my loan payment reduced by £15 pcm. So I presume that the PPI was worked out as follows

    £15 x 3 years = £540 PPI premium top loaded.

I cancelled the PPI after 9 months and they took off £373.27 from the loan, meaning I had paid £166.73.

However I can only see that I paid 9 months with the premium on top. £15 x 9 = £135.

I'm just wondering did I pay £135 or £166.73. Do they have a standard way of working it out?

Anyone who can shed some light on this please? :o

Hi - well done on getting somewhere with LTSB! I've found them to be a complete nightmare too. I called them yesterday and asked about my 7 claims and they couldnt tell me anything apart from the usual 16 weeks..blah blah blah.

Can i ask how long you have waited? I'm keen to find out how much money I'm owed too (if anything) - wish I kept all the original paperwork

    Thanks

I first started my claim in march, And was told i would have to wait upto 8 weeks, which was then extended until august 31st. that would of been fine, If they had not tried to phone me 16 times in 3 hours on the day my loan payment was due for the month (and they left a voicemail everytime), I got so annoyed that i started to use the same tactic with them, i phoned at least twice a day, morning and 4.30pm :D, and i emailed the CEO 2 or 3 times a week. The email i sent yesterday i wrote 'Can you take 5 minutes of your time to read through my complaints files, and then reply to me personally please' , this seemed to do the trick, and this morning i was emailed to be told that i would be made an offer.

Dont give up, If i can do it, anyone can!
