You could ring FOS and see what they advise you, this is wrong to me,when they have the proof but are still trying to wriggle out of this because the account number doesnt match.
You have proof of ppi paid and you have a claim here.

Thanks for the advice, I just feel a bit weary by this one, I've literally spent hours filling in forms and sending off letters. Suppose the saying 'don't let the ba****** grind you down'. comes to mind.

If this gets you a result it will be worth it.
    Fingers crossed.
  • Just had a letter from the Ombudsman
You may be aware from press release reports that in October 2010 the british bankers associaton requested a judicial review Of the FSA and the financial Ombudsman Service regarding the handling of complaints about PPI. The high court has now issued its judgement, which endorsed the approach of the Ombudsman and the FSA and on 9th May 2011 the BBA confirmed that it would no be appealing against the ruling.
As a result of the court action the press coverage we are now receiving more than 5000 PPI cases each week. The volume of cases now being received means there will be a delay in progressing your complaint. While i cannot give you a timeframe at this stage, i'm afraid some cases are likely to take over a year to be resolved.
We are dong everthing we can to deal with your case as efficiently as possible. The next is for us to ask the business for their information about the case. Your case will then be passed to one of our adjudicators. The will crefully consider what you and the business have said befor giving you their opinion. We hope to be able to pass your case to an adjudicator within the next 3 months: However we will keep you informed if this has not been possible.
In the meantime, if you have any further information contact us. Bryan Forbes.

Di and Amersall, will it really take upto a year before it will be sorted? Has anyone else had the same letter? Thaks in advance xx:eek:

Hopefully now that claims are moving and the banks are paying out,you wont have such a long wait,if your bank are paying out to people who did not go to FOS,then when they get to the claims that have been passed to FOS and you have a valid claim,i would have
thought that they will clear these too and get rid of them.

    Fingers crossed.
  • It is a complaint to Capital one Credit Card, they said i ticke the ppi box But i know i did not do this. xx

So after all the moaning I have done of late I have wonderful news to share. I initially submitted my claim for missold PPI in October 2010. Had to wait for all the Court cases etc, etc and got a letter advising me I would receive a response by 31st August. However, I decided to email the CEO on Monday 11th July which has resulted in an offer of £2,400.00 which I received through the post last Wednesday 20th July. I am delighted by this and have sent off the acceptance. I estimated I paid approx £850 in ppi premiums.....anything above this I would have accepted so as you can imagine I am thrilled and just relieved its all over (nearly). Good luck everyone else xxx

Morning all, Amersall i have just more or less copy/pasted your letter the the FOS, adding such details as the policy number and will pop it into the post to them with all the paperwork from Norton,, is it worth pointing out the demands and needs statement they sent which bears our signatures is completely wrong.
I will also paste the 2nd half of your post to Norton to let them know this case is winging its way to the FOS, you never know they may roll over,is it worth adding that as well as a full refund plus interest which will mount up i will seek compensation

You could point out the error of the demands and needs,it wouldnt hurt.
Yes,ask for compensation, for the way they have treated you with this claim. This should have been upheld, you should not have to wait months to get a result from a loan that was clearly mis sold.

    Fingers crossed x.

    Morning Lyn

Don't give up, this exactly what they are hoping for.

Even though your circumstances are slightly different to mine, the letter you received from FLA and Santander are almost word for word as the letters I received. The FLA really do nothing to help, they just pass Santander's letters on, they do not seem to question anything, which I find very frustrating.

Stick with it, I have now sent my questionnaire to the FOS against the underwriters for my Debenhams card, there are alot of us out there trying to claim for this mis-selling, so we need to fight this together.
