Good luck for the last week of July everybody :rotfl:
  • Would first like to say how much encouragement this board has given me to finally stand up and say no more!!! Some of the stories on here have been so helpful and congratulations to everyone who has won their claims!!!

    Ok, here we go...

I took out a loan with natwest in 2007 and it finished in 2009, the amount was only £1700 but with the ppi that bumped it up to £2200... I was wondering whether I had a case or if they would laugh me off. At the meeting they told me I would have higher success of being accepted for the loan if I was to take out loan insurance, obviously I said yes as I was desperate for this loan! And to make matters worse I remember there being 2 people in the room interviewing me! Basically I felt bullied into saying yes!

Anyway, about 2 months ago now I sent off a letter requesting my original terms and conditions but I havnt heard anything back! Would I be better off ringing?

    Next question!! Lol

At the time of taking out the loan I was also shown the amazing benefits of a natwest credit card!!! Now only up till about 6 months ago I realised I have also been paying ppi on this, which I don't remember even discussing ppi or even agreeing to having it. So on further investigation, I found the credit card ppi agreement in my filing and I havnt even signed it or sent it back!!! And that's 4 years ago!!! I'm planning to send 2 questionnaires to natwest for my loan and credit card, but first need to get all the documents ready...

Wish me luck :-D I'll keep you all updated xxx

Did you enclose £1 for this information, and ask for a copy of the agreement?, you only need the account number to put a claim in,you could find this on a bank statement,or if you paid by dd this may still show up on the bank system, that is if you dont already have it.
If you did ask for this info and enclosed £1 you should have recieved this by now, chase this up.
  • The account number that my loan went into and then paid my repayments from is the same account... Can I just use that account number then??

Thankyou for replying so quickly... I'm actually really nervous!!
  • Hi i have has ppi settlement of 1600.00 but barclays have taken off around £500 for interest and early settlement fees. Can anyone please tell me if this is correct??

In the original forms I sent to Santander I quoted all the account numbers (from memory about 3), it was always the same account but GE changed the account number a few times.
I have quoted exactly what it says in the letter

I would also point out at this time that the statements which Mrs xxxx has submitted showing that insurance premiums were taken after 8th September 1998 refer to a/c no xxxxxxxx. This account is not related to the above account.
You need to get back in touch with Santander and the FLA,and explain about the account for the statements you have, this proves you had ppi and that is what you need to claim back.

There are obviously crossed wires here,if you have statements for this account there should be an account number on there, looks like because you have not got the correct account number, they are not looking at this as a mis sell.
The reason that i submitted statements after this date was because Santander said in the original letter that no premiums were paid after 8th Sep 1998 when I clearly had evidence to show otherwise. They did send me a wriiten apology and as a gesture of goodwill a chq for £30 was to be sent within 10 - 14 days. This was after I emailed the ceo of santander complaining. Three wks later I'm still waiting on the 30 quid!!
You need to go back with this, you have sent proof of the ppi,you sent statements to this effect and tell them you are not happy with this and ask them to look at the stetments you have given them and to redress that account.
Would the fos maybe get involved with santander as i have it in writing that they told me lies???
You could ring FOS and see what they advise you, this is wrong to me,when they have the proof but are still trying to wriggle out of this because the account number doesnt match.
You have proof of ppi paid and you have a claim here.

Was this a loan and did you settle early?.

You will need to post the exact redress they have given you,and someone will help you with this.

That is the account you need, look here for reasons for mis sell

The same applies to credit cards, and all you need for cc is the card number.

Send your letters recorded delivery and give them 2 weeks to respond.
No need to feel nervous, this is easy and will hopefully get you back the mis sold ppi.
I am not usually this fast :rotfl:just happened to log on at the right time :D:D

If you need any more help just ask.
