    Hi Sue
You can try to reclaim on any mis sold PPI but this may get more difficult, for instance the older then this can become difficult.
However it does not make any difference if the loan is still active or settled.

I do know that some have been successful reclaiming PPI from early 2000's, even at 1999, but the most successful reclaims are as from Jan 2005 onwards, but if you don't try you will never know.
I was successful with a 2003 loan and had every penny of the PPI back plus interest.;)

    Hi there
You are correct, if you don,t put a claim in you will never know. My loan with PPI was taken out 2002 and I have been successful, by goodwill gesture.

  • THANKYOU MARTIN & CO:beer: ,
On oct 20th, after looking at some threads on here i thought that i would chance my luck after taking out a loan with A/LEICESTER in April 2001 for £7k & repaying it in Feb 2004, I completed the template letter and popped it in the post. Job done I thought, not holding out much hope for a reply {my luck doesn`t come easily} then on 4TH NOVEMBER `08, THE LETTER CAME:-
Dear sir, Thank you for telling us your concerns about the PPI policy you took out with A/L, My investigation is now complete. Having considered the information available to me, I am unable to establish that you were provided with sufficient details to be able to make an informed decision when you were recommended to buy this policy. I would like to offer you £2,147.25 as a refund with interest, of all the premiums you have paid for the insurance of your loan.

    A. Total monthly premiums £1,431.50
    B. Interest on A up until 30 Nov `08 £715.75
    C. Total premiums + interest A+B £2,147.25

Today 26 Nov `08 the cheque for £2.147.25 arrived. WHAT A RESULT FOR LESS THAN AN HOURS WORK ON THIS BRILLIANT FORUM. THANKS AGAIN!!!!

    Well done Mac666,

How long did this take?? I am also trying to claim on 3 loans from Halifax and i called yesterday and was told a letter has been posted to me saying they are still investigating this. Please allow them until the 29th Dec!! Wish they would make a decision, as the extra cash would be great for Xmas. Did you phone them on a weekly basis also, as i have read on some forums this speeds thing up.:T
