PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

What were you reclaiming: credit card ppi from 1996 (i think)
Who was the provider: HALIFAX
How much did you get back: £3,172.45
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Did the template letter and customer complaints form and rang up several times to check progress. They did offer in january for us to go to the FOS due to the delays but we sat tight.
And then write your brief reclaim tale: Started it in October 2010, sent all forms off and had several letters from HALIFAX stating usual, delays..looking into things...will hear back from us shortly. In January we had a letter stating due to the court case there was a delay, so we sat tight, didnt go to FOS. Got a letter last week saying it will be the 31st August until we heard anything..so we sat tight...got a letter today stating they were agreeing our case and cheque will be with us within 5 days!!!!!!
THANK YOU TO THIS BOARD! BEEN SO HELPFULL!
Fab news!!!:j:j:j:j
Mine is also with the Halifax and i been waiting since Feb this year with usual standard letters which you got, i also got told August final date so fingers crossed i hear something from them soon xx2025 Wins ::

hey all, am looking for a bit of advice, had a final response of a no from Capital 1 for my other halfs PPI claim. I have sent a SAR request today and emailed the CEO on monday and again today but have had no response. Do you think i should keep emailing him asking him to re-look at the claim or wait for the SAR details and go straight to the ombudsman?! I was wondering if badgering the CEO might make them change their mind and save the ombudsman route...would this work?!0

I know I have just had mine rejected for the 'its outside the 6 years' excuse! However my claim could be around £5500 so maybe that's the reason they're trying to fob me off hoping I'll go away!
HI
Have been doing some reseach as Natwest rang last night 6.30 ish whilst I was out, only five days after my e-mail to Stephen Hester and they said they will ring me this morning :T
A
Intial reseach shows Six years (Statute Barred Limitation) only comes in Six years after You became Aware you were Missold PPI
B
Guidelines for the calculations for the refund of premiums suggest a basline of twentytwo years 2011 - 22years = 1989
C
Earliest court case/example I have been able to find of misselling goes back to 1991
I will update after my chat with Natwest and post links for the above if anybody wants them:D

Also in the form i have just sent off to ombudsman i also included a payment protecton which i had independanly with payment shield. So you see there was no reason for me to have ticked this box. Hopefully this ombudsman will see this for themselves. CAPITAL ONE ARE SUCH NAUGHTY LIARS. Any one else had this problem? Thanks in advance x
my answer to them is that I was dealt with by a salesman who asked the questions and filled in the boxes before asking me to filling my personal details even if the box was ticked by me he certainly did not check if I needed to enroll in their Payment Protection (racket)Scheme :cool:0 -

When I E-mailed the Ceo Rich Fairbank they were that eager to reject me they e-mailed a copy of my application form back the next day
E-mail again asking for copy to be emailed back to you and contact Fos to get it in system:beer:
In my opinion he is the most inappropriately named CEO for Capital One
Rich He certainly will be:mad:
Fair Bank They certainly aint
Wonder if trades description would be interested ?:rotfl:0 -
They are such a bunch of liars! I have not seen many success post's on here with them! Keep on at them. I wont give up with them as it makes me more determined cos they LIE LIE LIE. I will never have anything to do with them again. Good luck to all who have dealings with them x:mad:0

I can't believe that having emailed the CEO's of HBOS/Lloyds and HSBC twice in the last 2 days, I haven't even received so much as an acknowledgement email.
I know I am being impatient as it has only been 9 weeks, so technically they have right up until 31 August to reach a decision.
I have decided to leave it now until the deadline, but if they are so much as 1 day late, they will be sorry :rotfl:I'm a secret crime fighter0 -

I would just try to put it to the back of your mind until the end of august as they do not need to contact you until then and no doubt they wont till then! the swines! so you will just end up getting pee'd off even more:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim
