    hi, morti
great news, was this blackhorse finance or lloyds tsb, fos would not take my complaint on saying blackhorse finance was not regulated by them before 07,
any advice or info would be greatful.
  • What were you reclaiming: PPI
    Who was the provider: HSBC
How much did you get back: £780
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter
And then write your brief reclaim tale:
What a great site this is! just one simple template letter downloaded and posted off and then HSBC offered to pay back all the PPI I have paid with 8% interest. This will pay off my overdraft and clear credit card so am extremely gratefull.

    this is my situation !!

complaint against m and s been with fos since sept 2007. allocated adjudicant in may 08.

my complaint has been upheld by the adjudicant 2x and they still are saying they will provide more evidence that it was not miss sold. How long do they need !!! (complaint 1st sent to m and s in july 07!!)

Looks like it may go to an ombudsman to look at. which may take another 6-8 months.!!!!!!!!!

does anyone know how often the ombudsman actually overturns a adjudicants decision and if the timescales quoted are accurate..

i am getting deperate here guys as am in some financial difficulties too..(i know they can fast-track your case but need things like court dates/repossesion orders etcc...but not at this stage yet!)

Was soo needing some of the money for the kids at xmas..

ps ppi should be in region of 10K and i have no current relationship with m and s

did fos keep you updated on what staus in the q your complaint was?

I wonder why companies choose to do this...it will cost them more in the end !

    Any thoughts ?

    Hi

I rang to claim back my PPI on my BOS account. I said I didnt sign anything to set it up and wanted proof of my authorisation. They sent me a letter saying they were looking into it and then a letter saying a cheque was on its way for nearly 2k from over 6 years! BUT!!! then I got a letter from them saying my credit card was due to expire end Nov and they wouldnt be issuing me with another one! How can they do this? I rang customer services who said I had a very good credit rating and they couldnt understand this?! I had just cleared my card bout a month earlier and sometimes was in credit.

Anybody any ideas why this was done? I got a copy of my credit file and there is no defaults or anything strange on it!

    TIA

I would complain to the FSA like marshallka said also I would make a complaint to the Banking Codes Standards Board, Bank of Scotland are members of this code. This is a small paragraph from the Banking code:

7.7 We will not close your account, or threaten to do so, as
a response to a valid complaint you have made.

Here is the link if you need it:

This is the link below for the Banking Code:

mines went in August 2008 but it was fasttracked so i would ask them tell them about your situation you never know. They might actually just need a gentle reminder, phone up your adjudicator and ask if and ask can it be looked at through the fast track system due to financial difficulties.

    Hi ya

It took three and half weeks for a closed loan. We have a open loan too and that one is taking longer.
