Great Great result
HSBC,
Mate had 2 loans with PPI, 1 loan had been paid off early with loan 2 (loan 2 was still running with over 4.5k left on it)
Had posted in the discussion thread about how much could maybe be expected back with the 8% interest.
I genuinely believe he was missold so have helped him do everything as I was already helping him get out of debt,
The HSBC offer was very close to that which had been worked out on this forum, massive thanks to those who have given me advise.
Think it was robbedofmymoney who worked out what to expect back with other advise from Di + Amersall
Claims were sent back in August last year but went on hold due to the Judicial review, I chased up the claims after the review and received no response after 6 weeks so emailed the managing director.
This got things moving and 2 weeks later my mate received an offer letter…..
Loan written off in full….. so over 4.5k + with the interest it also meant they owed him a little extra on top so that was paid directly into his account
Massive result. About 10 months ago he gave me his bank cards and said he was starting to get in a mess, credit card maxed out and living in his overdraft every month, that was aswell as having over £300 to pay to an HSBC loan each month aswell as a loan to one of those door to door loan selling companies (£100 a month).
10 months on and his credit card is clear (+ locked in my safe)
All loans now cleared off completely (so no longer having to pay hsbc over £300 or the other company £100)
+ is now putting £250 aside each month so he can afford to pay his car insurance in full when its due in January aswell as go on a holiday.
He’d basically just been spending beyond his means, had to break his spending down on a spreadsheet for him and give him a budget to stick to. Simple.

My claim was with Tesco Bank on a credit card dating back ten years. Initially claim was rejected but Financial Ombudsman found in my favour. In recent years the balance has been around 6 to 9k. I got back £7,400. Also, I received the cheque for this amount, the amount was not deducted from my credit card balance as I had been told it would.
Unfortunately!! I used a claims company as I thought the process would be long and difficult, long yes but all it took was a couple of forms to fill in. I will lose 25 per cent plus VAT in payment to the claims co but that's life, we live and learn. Advice to anyone is to go it alone.
Could anyone please tell me if PPI will now be removed from my credit card account or will I have to ring the company and do this myself?
Good luck to everyone still going through the process!
The ppi should be taken off your account now, give them a ring just to be on the safe side.0 -

Hi All,
Just had a claim rejected by MBNA, via a third party compnay. They have said that due to the wording given by MBNA, they cannot refer it to the Ombudsman. Where do I stand? Can I go to MBNA direct, can I go to the Ombudsman direct, to challenge this?
Thanks in advance.
Congrats to all who have had good results so far!!
Was this a loan,if so what year was this taken out?.
Also,is this the first claim that has been made to MBNA for this account?.0 -
