I also had two loans with Lloyds from this time. Did you have all the details of your PPI? I only have the account number and am still waiting on the outcome of my complaint - it's with CEO at mo.
No i have no details or paperwork, i did ring and they was able to give me loan account numbers from the current account that i still use, and they was able to tell me the loan amounts and that i had ppi on them.
    good luck:D

Fab! I had a current account which they wouldn't let me close until the loans were complete so they can check account numbers for the loan from my current account.

Do you mind me asking were your loans big? Mine was £3000 and £5000 and taken out in 1998 and 1999. Just wondering how much I would be looking at approximately!

    Thanks for the reply :-)

mine was £5000 in 1998 paid off after 12 months and the 2nd one is £7000 loan in 1999 paid off after about 2 years.
dont know figures yet as lloyds tell you how much ppi you have paid then work out the calculations after you have signed the acceptance slip, and i cant work it out. but they did say they would redress with FOC guidelines of 8%. hope that helps

Wonder why they don't tell you how much you get and then you sign the acceptance slip? Bloody Lloyds lol.

Was just curious as have no idea at all how much PPI I would have been paying so interested to find out!

They are dealing with my complaint pretty crappily actually. First letter sent last November they said they couldn't trace the details and that I don't have PPI on my current account.

I wrote back and said I never claimed to have PPI on current account and if they had read my letter, it was on my loans and I wanted it investigated properly. No response at all so wrote to them again a few weeks back and again nothing so emailed CEO and got an email that day saying they were looking into my complaint. This was followed up by a letter.

Get a further letter today asking for my business name and account, did i have copy of my business application so they can look into my sale of business insurance?!! Sigh. Emailed CEO back asking what they are playing at basically and, as they know and stated in their previous correspondence, my loans were both personal not business.

They really are useless, worst bank I have ever been with!

Fingers crossed all the same :-)
  • I have had a natwest credit card since 1994 same account all the way to present day. Card numbers have changed due to updates / lost cards etc.

I had PPI at the outset - naive 18 year old thougt I needed it but would have been worthless as was at uni with no job!

I only cancelled the insurance in 2007 - on te back of reading moneysaving expert!

Does anyone know if a clam is possible!

    Hi
I would most certainly try, and with being a full time uni student the ppi was totally worthless to you anyway.
Give it a go with what you do have by completing the reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below.

Sent to Natwest complaints or head office, keep a copy and allow 8 weeks for a decision, they will let you know if they need more time, good luck.

Thanks - will give them both a try.

I am trying to avoid FOS due to huge backlog they have and the time it will take to get looked at (unknown as they have informed me with other claims I have ongoing).

Letter received from HFC regarding GM card enclosing a complaint form for me to fill in.
No doubt when they receive this I will get another letter from them telling me they now have 16 weeks to come to a decision.

    Jokers.

  • After almost 18 months I have finally succeeded in my claim for mis-sold PPI.

My claim was with Tesco Bank on a credit card dating back ten years. Initially claim was rejected but Financial Ombudsman found in my favour. In recent years the balance has been around 6 to 9k. I got back £7,400. Also, I received the cheque for this amount, the amount was not deducted from my credit card balance as I had been told it would.

Unfortunately!! I used a claims company as I thought the process would be long and difficult, long yes but all it took was a couple of forms to fill in. I will lose 25 per cent plus VAT in payment to the claims co but that's life, we live and learn. Advice to anyone is to go it alone.

Could anyone please tell me if PPI will now be removed from my credit card account or will I have to ring the company and do this myself?

Good luck to everyone still going through the process!
