Hi All,
Just had a claim rejected by MBNA, via a third party compnay. They have said that due to the wording given by MBNA, they cannot refer it to the Ombudsman. Where do I stand? Can I go to MBNA direct, can I go to the Ombudsman direct, to challenge this?
Thanks in advance.
Congrats to all who have had good results so far!!0 -

My claim was with Tesco Bank on a credit card dating back ten years. Initially claim was rejected but Financial Ombudsman found in my favour. In recent years the balance has been around 6 to 9k. I got back £7,400. Also, I received the cheque for this amount, the amount was not deducted from my credit card balance as I had been told it would.
Unfortunately!! I used a claims company as I thought the process would be long and difficult, long yes but all it took was a couple of forms to fill in. I will lose 25 per cent plus VAT in payment to the claims co but that's life, we live and learn. Advice to anyone is to go it alone.
Could anyone please tell me if PPI will now be removed from my credit card account or will I have to ring the company and do this myself?
Good luck to everyone still going through the process!
Well done :j:beer::j:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

I wonder what wording this was? Are they sending you this via post (if not, then make sure they do)? Not sure whether you can attempt to go direct through the bank after being rejected via third party (I'm sure someone can clarify). Hopefully you can. But you will be able re-claim via the FOS using your third party communications (hence why it's important to recieve clarification from them as to why you were rejected) and questionnare (downloaded from this site)/original documents to back you up.
Positive is that they won't be taking a hefty chunk of what is owed to you (hope they didn't charge you anything up front?).
I'm sure someone with experience of this will be able to give you a better answer.:rotfl:2018 wins: Hong Kong holiday0
