    Hi Guys
Still waiting on four claims now, all started on April 27:-

Santander Debenhams Gold card - Santander refused to acknowledge and should hear from FOS in the next few days
HSBC Loan and credit card - letters to say that I should know more by mid July
Halifax - just received letter stating they now have 16 weeks to complete.

Ticking off the days now and hope that I have good news shortly!! I'll never trust banks again, the HSBC Loan application from 2003 wasn't even signed for PPI option but somehow I still paid it for six years. I will check everything very closely from now on

    Hey guys.

Just had a call from HSBC, I had requested that they contact me when my complaint was being looked at. They informed me that a letter had gone out on Friday to say that my complaint had been upheld. I got a bit excited at that point and didnt listen as carefully as I should, but they were offering around £6400 as reimbursement for the miss-sold PPI give or take a few pounds. Will give the proper calculations when I see the letter if that would be helpful.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE ON THIS SITE, Di and co, if it hadn't been for you lot, i would have used a claims handling company who would now have taken a nice 25% of what i was owed. Those with HSBC dont give up! They are getting through them now.
Well done :T:T our charge is 0% by the way, so dont spend your win too soon :rotfl:;):D

Whoah thats fast well don Do you mind me asking were they for old loans or recent? I have a few recentish loans but reckoned theyd have procedures watertight ? Think they about 2yrs ago so wasnt going to bother trying

It was for an old loan that ended about three years ago. The only paperwork i had was a letter offering me a new loan with my account number on it. I think my loan was fpr £5000 but cant remember if it was over three years of five years. Dont know how much I will get x
  • I thought i would chance my arm at claiming PPI from Abbey/Santander for a loan i took out 11 years ago (paid off 10 years ago) thinking it was worth the stamp.
    Recieved letter today offering
    £476 for Pemiums paid
    £400 for Interest

£847 for reading up on a great website using your templates. Thank you to all mods/admin (you know who you are) this could not of come at a better time for the family. Your all stars.

Thought i would share this story as some people believe there is a 6yr limit.

  • i have been cold called by a firm called easy claim who, after checking my details, say that i am entitled to claim back my ppi. however, they're asking for 200 quid up front payment, which, they say, will be refunded if i am in fact unsuccessfull. could anyone advise please? thanks

    Well,

firstly I'm pretty sure the Ministry of Justice have made upfront charges unlawful (if you MUST use a claims firm, NEVER pay up front!!)

Secondly, I'd ask them what loan they believe you took the PPI on (from what bank and what year) and if they tell you and its right ask them how the heck they know that?

If you had a loan in the past that you believe you may have had PPI on (or even a credit card) - post details on here, people will help you claim

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

NO NO NO NO NO. If you believe you have a valid claim against PPI don`t use anyone else. Use the free ( YUP FREE!!!) advice on this website and download the PPI Claim templates. They are charging you £200 for what you could do with a first class stamp.
