Have a ppi complaint in with MBNA but last i heard from them they would get back too us in 21days that was over a month ago should i chase it up?
Hi and welcome
No harm in asking for updates, but as many complaints that have been on hold since before Xmas 2010, they have been given guidelines on settled these first, in an orderly date, good news though and even though August seems a long way off it will come round quick I expect, and you may still even hear before that but are giving these dates to cover themselves as well.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
thanks di , but i was a few days out of the timescale do u think ive still got a good chance of getting anything back ? i thought any thing after the 21st of april gets looked in to and not just a offer thanks again in advance x x0

Your welcome.;)
And yes you do, for them to actually say an offer that must definately mean something. They may have still taken yours into consideration of the earlier batch in my opinion anway. x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I reclaimed PPI from loans that we had with Welcome Finance. Initially I thought we would have had 2 PPI policies with them but I was amazed to discover that there were 6 policies that we had with them.
I was apprehensive about claiming on my own and used the PPI reclaim company Gladstone Brookes who will take a fee for their service.
Gladstone Brookes managed to get us a massive £6686 refund from Welcome Finance and this was processed and in our account within 8-9 weeks. I now have another PPI policy that we are trying to claim by ourselves from Welcome via FSCS; However almost 1 month after sending on our change of address we have yet to receive the claims form. I have complained to the FOS and they have written to them but as yet this has made no difference. I am persistent and will persevere until we reclaim what is rightfully ours - so will keep up the fight with them until we get what we are due!!;)0 -
After receiving my letter from First Plus yesterday I decided to ring the claims company dealing with it. I didnt mention having received this letter but told them that I wasnt happy with their service as they hadnt been in touch with me for weeks to let me know what was happening. I explained that I had rang them a couple of weeks ago and was told they would get back to me, but nothing. So I rang them again last week and was told that my claim with First Plus was being worked on and I should hear by the end of July!! Today, the snotty madam that spoke to me at the claims company said that Barclays would be sending everyone a letter (still didnt say I had got mine already) as they were paying out and that I should never have been told it would be sorted by the end of July. I then asked how much would it cost me to cancel their services now - she replied £420 and that it would have to be paid on cancellation!!! I cant afford that at the moment as my husband is on short-time working but it is very tempting!! So I havent actually cancelled their services as yet.
Anyway I then went on to ring First Plus and the guy told me that as my claim didnt go in until April it would be one of the last ones dealt with and there wasnt much hope for it to be sorted long before the end of August!! Anyway I asked him about sending letters to the claim company and he said that none had gone as yet so I asked him not to send any for me unless I agree - so he has put a note on the account. Naughty I know!
Now I have a dilemma!!! Do I try and scrimp and save and pay this £420 and take a risk that I might get more than that back or do I sit and wait and hope that if the claims company doesnt get any letters from First Plus I could cancel the claims company once I have a figure from First Plus. Or do I play fair and just let them take their 29.5%? I know its very naughty thinking like this but we could really do with all the money we are due at the moment as my husband is only working 3 weeks our of 4!!!0 -

If its any help .
I made telephone call to NRAM (Northern Rock) concerning a PPI complaint on 09/05/11 and received a letter dated 07/06/11 upholding my complaint. I have accepted their offer and after speaking to them today I am expecting payment to my bank on Monday 27/06/11.
Hope these time scales help.
I faxed my Acceptance back on the 16th May and I'm still waiting
I phoned last Friday and I was told the is a massive backlog and the day mine was recieved they had also had at least another 300 upheld compliants to deal with so told me it would be another few weeks yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ring Barclays and tell them the same (just in case they send a letter to the company).
When you get your refund letter from FP then cancel the company and make sure they send you a bill first !!, then post them a cheque for the 450, if you can get the money before then cancel and pay.
Trust me this will be worth it as you will get the redress to you and the company will not get any "money for nothing".
Keep me updated and good luck.0
