Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter direct to lender

Dunno how much use this'll be but, after the ruling, I thought I'd check my Egg credit card of nine years. Guess what I didn't know I had.
One swift letter, a not-so-swift response, and I received a cheque for £875, including the card-protection rubbish; the interest charged; plus another 8% for the time they had it.
Given the minimal effort, it was well worth it. I would say 'thanks' to Egg for shelling out, but as it was my cash in the first place, so it can sod off.
For anyone else, I'd recommend writing, whether you use Martin's template, or - like I did - simply request all PPIs back from the past six years. After a month, chase them. Another fortnight and, if you had any form of PPI, expect a cheque.
:money:
PS, the amusing thing is that Egg claims the cheque is no admission of guilt, nor does it pertain to the recent rulings. And my !!!! is a cream bun.0 -
