maryspecial wrote: »Hi, congratulations!! do you mind me asking if that was a tick box paper application? We have put complaint in aboit ppi on halifax one c card. when we got copies of paperwork there was a copy of application summary saying we had asked for ppi. We didnt but it has husbands signature on it. So silly. Thing is we def didnt know terms cos if we did there is no way we'd have signed for it as husband coildnt have claimed as work schemes excellent etc.
Hi there,
I also have a complaint with my Halifax credit card. Mine was done in the branch but what I failed to notice at the time I signed the agreement, was that the PPI box was computer ticked and they had printed it off with it on. Silly I know but they never mentioned PPI and i just thought I was signing for the credit card. My complaint has been with them since early January, what about yours?
Good luck0 -
- What were you reclaiming: Secured loan ppi
- Who was the provider: Black Horse
- How much did you get back: £5474.26
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter direct to lender
- And then write your brief reclaim tale
I sent this in October 2010 - Complaint put on hold throughout JR. When banks lost this I called weekly for update and then eventually emailed the CEO of LLoyds (got email address from very helpful people on here).
3 weeks ago my complaint was upheld, I got an acceptance form sent to me to sign and return, which I did 2 weeks ago. I was told I would get payout within 8 weeks, so very surprised to get this letter today with calculations. Cheque should take 7 days.
I am so very, very grateful for all the information and advice I have found on this forum and for the many people who have answered my questions. You have all made this very easy indeed. :T
Thank you!
Well done! :j
I found out last week that Black Horse are upholding both of my PPI complaints. I sent the acceptance form back straight away. Just waiting figures now.
I don't mean to sound nosey but when does your claim date back to? And how much of the money you are getting back was the actual cost of the PPI? And how much of it is interest?
Just trying to get a rough idea of what to expect as I haven't a clue! It definitely won't be as much as yours, although that would be nice!
Thanks in advance0 -

Hi boycey
We cant remember how we applied for card. The printed copy we have seems like a summary of application which he had to sign. Def not in branch, either over phone or paper tear off thingy. The copy has printed on it you have requested ppi or words like that. Then at bottom of page he has signed it. No tick boxes but i assume maybe the original paper application had it. Not very hopeful because we cant remember enough details but put form in as we always assumed it was condition of getting card. Husbands work package is very good so the policy is useless to us. We have cancelled the ppi though read here after that maybe we shouldnt have. We have only put in forms a few weeks ago so reckon we will either hear negative response soon or have a long wait. Have gotten so much from this site though, its great and the posters really know their stuff!! Good luck with yours!Mary B0 -

Thanks maryspecial
Thats good enough reason for being mis-sold, and many have been mis-sold the same way and won. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you
From what I understand you should cancel the PPI on credit cards, it's loans that you shouldn't because you could end up paying more. Or something along them lines, but i'm sure someone will come along soon and explain this a bit better than myself!0 -

Thanks! Maybe we did the right thing then after all!
Also i read earlier but cant find it now that front loaded ppi is def a mis sale?? Is that when ppi is added at beginning of a loan? And is it always a missale?
We have requested paperwork from a number of loans, still waiting for it to arrive. Def have loans with ppi added on at beginning. Are those definite missales then? I think it was amersall who posted comment but cant find it now!!
We have been busy pursuing the credit card one first, maybe wew should be getting more excited about the loan ones coming up!!Mary B0 -

To be honest i'm not entirely sure. If someone does know more about this, could you explain it to us please as I too would be interested to know??
Yes i've got 2 loans with Halifax that had PPI added. I'm still waiting a response from them, keeping my fingers crossed.
Yes as soon as you receive the paperwork get your claims in!
Good luck0 -
I understand that front loaded ppi have around 90% upheld, but im no expert.0

Front loaded is when you pay a full premium up front ontop of your loan for insurance rather than a single monthly payment, ours was for 5 years yet the loan on which it was loaded to was over 10, Amersall is good with this.0

Sorry i'm going to sound really thick now. On all my loans I had the full premium added on top of them. So the PPI were added to the cost of my loans at the start but I didn't pay anything up front. I just had set monthly payments that covered the cost of the loans and PPI. I take it this means mine weren't front loaded??:o0
