Hi all, just wondering what the success rate is for a Halifax loan PPI reclaim? I took a loan out in 2008 I believe and have payed PPI since then.

I sent a Letter and the Questionnaire to Halifax and got a letter back pretty much explaining that they are sorry about the situation and appreciate me taking to time to bring it to they're attention.

They said they understand my complaint is about the mis-sale of PPI. and also said My complaint will be dealt with as quickly as possible, but if I need to talk to the before hand give them a call.

From this I assume I will need to wait around 8-weeks before I should contact or expect to hear anything from them?

I'm slightly confused how this whole thing works although I have read a lot of helpful bits and peices on this site, so thanks all for that!

If I'm unsuccessful is that the end of it or can I go the ombudsman route?

    Again many thanks all.

    Rich.

    Hi Rich

That what you received is standard and it looks like its going how it should be going, so even though now they have 8 weeks, if they require extra time, they will let you know.
In the final decision, they enclose details of the FOS, so if your not happy with the outcome you can take your complaint to them.

    Good luck.

Put in a complained with them on the 15th May, they acknowledged the complained on the 19th May. Received a letter yesterday off of them stating how sorry they are. They have looked at my policy and have found out that it is not appropriate for me. Basically they told me that if my marriage broke up then I would be covered. I have never been married.
The Redress team will now complete the relevant calculations. This should be done in the next 10 working days. A letter will be issued with the breakdown of any amounts payable.
I paid £12.12 on the PPI for 24 months.
No idea what I will get back, but this will be fantastic and pay for my 2 children's school uniforms as they are moving up to the big school. Thank you for all your support.
Forward now with three more claims. :):):)

    :j:j:j Well done:beer:
  • I have browsed this site for a couple of years now, and have known about the credit card & loan claimbacks for some time, but untill recently I was just to LAZY to rummage through all my old paperwork and see if I could find the details of a loan I had a couple of years back.

Until on the 02/06/11, I happened to find the loan agreement of a loan from the Alliance and Leicester i had taken out in march 03, a 5 year loan with PPI attached to it.
I read all the required posts, downloaded the form, photocopied the load agreement and posted it off, half expecting them to ignore me and brush me off as it was so long ago, and Santander had taken them over etc.

What a shock I got on saturday past (11/06/11) a letter from Santander offering to settle the total amount £868 + interest, Grand total of £1296.

I would just like to say a HUGE thankyou to all MSE forum contributers + Admins + Mods etc for keeping this site alive for lazy dopes like me, and for being there when I eventually got around to making the small effort required to claim my hard earned back from these corrupt bankers.

This money is going to go towards my wife and I going to Vegas next year to renew our wedding vows (I know cheesey or what!:D) But I have been finding it difficult to save the money we need for this, and this little windfall takes alot of pressure off us.

Thanks again MSE, and if your reading this and you hav'nt claimed back what you deserve please do it quick, its worth it

    Thanks again:j

Hi, congratulations!! do you mind me asking if that was a tick box paper application? We have put complaint in aboit ppi on halifax one c card. when we got copies of paperwork there was a copy of application summary saying we had asked for ppi. We didnt but it has husbands signature on it. So silly. Thing is we def didnt know terms cos if we did there is no way we'd have signed for it as husband coildnt have claimed as work schemes excellent etc.
