I have browsed this site for a couple of years now, and have known about the credit card & loan claimbacks for some time, but untill recently I was just to LAZY to rummage through all my old paperwork and see if I could find the details of a loan I had a couple of years back.

Until on the 02/06/11, I happened to find the loan agreement of a loan from the Alliance and Leicester i had taken out in march 03, a 5 year loan with PPI attached to it.
I read all the required posts, downloaded the form, photocopied the load agreement and posted it off, half expecting them to ignore me and brush me off as it was so long ago, and Santander had taken them over etc.

What a shock I got on saturday past (11/06/11) a letter from Santander offering to settle the total amount £868 + interest, Grand total of £1296.

I would just like to say a HUGE thankyou to all MSE forum contributers + Admins + Mods etc for keeping this site alive for lazy dopes like me, and for being there when I eventually got around to making the small effort required to claim my hard earned back from these corrupt bankers.

This money is going to go towards my wife and I going to Vegas next year to renew our wedding vows (I know cheesey or what!:D) But I have been finding it difficult to save the money we need for this, and this little windfall takes alot of pressure off us.

Thanks again MSE, and if your reading this and you hav'nt claimed back what you deserve please do it quick, its worth it

    Thanks again:j
:j:jWell done and congrats on renewing your vows
    Enjoy Vegas :j:j

hi guys well done on the success stories lately not good news for me today letter from egg saying they are not upholding my complaint because
    online sales process
does not require you to take repayment protection insurance as a condition of obtainingthe credit card
does not provide an advisory service
required you to positively confirm that you wished to purchased
this policy during the online application
povided full terms and conditions of the policy and requested you read them before submitting
put this complaint in 25 march 2011 and was put on hold so much for thinking i must have a good chance or it would have not been on hold!

so many success stories with egg lately but i get a no so disappointed suppose just need to go to fos queue

    • What were you reclaiming: Secured loan ppi
    • Who was the provider: Black Horse
    • How much did you get back: £5474.26
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter direct to lender
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
I completed the FOS questionaire that is on this forum and sent it with a covering letter explaining that I was told by the advisor that I MUST take the PPI cover or I would not be approved for the loan.

I sent this in October 2010 - Complaint put on hold throughout JR. When banks lost this I called weekly for update and then eventually emailed the CEO of LLoyds (got email address from very helpful people on here ;)).

3 weeks ago my complaint was upheld, I got an acceptance form sent to me to sign and return, which I did 2 weeks ago. I was told I would get payout within 8 weeks, so very surprised to get this letter today with calculations. Cheque should take 7 days.

I am so very, very grateful for all the information and advice I have found on this forum and for the many people who have answered my questions. You have all made this very easy indeed. :T

    Thank you!
