hi lozza001, I have just had success with RBS thanks to the Ombudsmen, had 2 loans with Lombard Direct who are owned by Royal Bank of Scotland, just yesterday returned the acceptance of offer for £4,906.
I sent letters from this site back in April to Lombard, got the standard no letters, and final response, so I sent it all onto the Ombudsmen, after many months of waiting for an adjudicator, they upheld my complaint and told RBS to refund PPI plus interest charged, plus 8% interest.
They are worth there weight in gold - the people who work for the Ombudsmen Service - It takes time due to there workload, but well worth the wait.
Am now waiting for an adjudicator for my claim against Lloyds PPI, sold in much the same way as RBS (but were business loans) so fingers crossed.
My advise to everyone, is keep going, dont give up, its so worth it in the end
Thanks to Martin and everyone on this site who takes the time to help and advise everyone.

I have also got a complaint in with the FOS against Lombard Direct, which you advised me to do, i am waiting for somebody to be assigned to my case so hopefully like you i will be successful. Well done Clossina.

I got over £5,800 Back from NATWEST It took a long time over 12 months and i had to send 2 letters and they kept sending letters to say they would deal with it within 4 - 6 weeks, so evebtualy I went to the Ombusmans and then had to wait while they contacted NATWEST and then send the Ombusman a 2nd letter to say that i had heard nothing back from NATWEST then i was sent a letter offering to give me back the money i had paid so far with interest and an additional amount for my troubles. I used all the standard letter form this site and it was so easy NATWEST just dragged it out and made it take so long THANKS MARTIN

Hi i to have got a complaint in with Natwest for the missell of PPI, and i have noticed that they have paid some money back into my loan account. And i have also spoken to my case worker, and it looks as if i will be refunded for my PPI soon. So a big well done to you, and hopefully i can write my success story also soon.:T

    Hi All,

Can anyone advise me how whether RBS are likely to pay out my PPI and if so how long it may take. The bank has not provided me with loan agreements when I have asked for them several times. I have sent a letter off explaining that and they sent me a form to fill in.

I am worried that they may try to fob me off with a lesser amount than I have paid to them.

Has anyone had any experience with them?

    Lozza x

    Hi Lozza
Not seen you post for a little while, here or over the road.;) :D

I note you have mentioned about how long before paying out, do you mean this has been resolved now hun ?

You are entitled to request for a written form of calculations to explain what is being paid etc, a breakdown then.;)
They should provide you with these if you request them.

Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you again soon.

    Hello there Pdorf
I reclaime PPI paid on an M and S loan. They were actually very decent about it all and paid up after 2 letters based on templates from this site. I got £3115 and I think they calculated the interest for me as it was significantly more than I was expecting. Cheque arrived Christmas eve last year!
    Good luck!
  • Thanks FRANJAM.
Just replied to M&S Money. Took me 3 days to go through all the paperwork they sent me. If they cough up we might have meat for christmas after all.
  • Hi igot a loan out with Halifax just over a year ago and they said about PPI i said no then i got some paperwork about it and just threw it away as i didnt want it, i then started repaying my loan with monthly payments then a few months back when it mentioned about reclaiming PPI i lookeed at my loan paperwork i had again and noticed that i was paying for PPI. i took the draft letter off here and sent it to Halifax, they wrote back and said that i never signed the form to pay for the PPI in the first place!!!!!!!!!!! so then the repaid me what i had already paid off and took the rest off the loan now im saving paying out about £40 a month which is handy now that i am a dad to my beautiful son, Cheers :money:

I have just filed a claim with MCOL for PPI paid on a HFC/Beneficial Visa card. HFC declined to pay and fos were unable to help as there was no original paper work. So this is really my final option. It has cost me £100 and I am feeling a bit nervous about what I have let myself in for but I feel that if I don't do this I will always wonder what might have happened. I'll keep you posted! Any advice welcome!
    Best wishes

12K Loan from Halifax taken in March 2003 cleared early. Sent first letter to Halifax Oct 07, two months later got a three page letter back saying no. So sent letter to FOS as they said at the end of their letter if not happy go direct to them.

Got a letter from them FOS few days ago, so took a year saying they have heard back from Bank of Scotland and although they accept no liability. As a gesture of good will they are willing to settle it in the following way.

For loans that have been settled the difference between the total amount paid with the difference between the total amount that would have been paid without PPI plus the 8% interest on the amount as composition.

So by looking at my original loan documentation it would appear the PPI was three thousand nine hundred odd plus the one thousand odd pound interest charge on top.

I was not really expecting anything so anyone unsure go for it.

Right the total ammount back was 4800GBP so not bad really and came in very quickly after I singed and returned the FOS document.
