I did phone Egg today and was told the complaint is still on hold. Just out of interest I asked how much I'd paid in PPI, and the two came to about £8,000. I make that about £11K once 8% goes on over at least five years (the debt was settled five years ago).... I am excruciatingly excited! All my debts paid off!

Now come on Egg and the FOS - put me out of my misery.

    Hiya

Wow, that is a lot of money, and remember as well the longer they hold on to them the more interest they have to pay, despite of wanting this dealt with right now, good luck.;)

Hi there I used all the templates from the web site and followed all the instruction - Success
5th August 2010 asked for a copy of my credit agreement for a £3500 loan taken out 2002
Lodged my complaint with Lloyds - TSB 20th September 2010
Received a response saying they were looking into it 4th October
Wrote to them again using templates 10th November chasing
Referred to the FOS 2nd December
FOS wrote back to me 2nd February they have lodged my complaint with LLoyds-TSB - gave me a contact name and address if I hear nothing within a week contact them
Contacted LLoyds-TSB on telephone - they are dealing and have 8 weeks
On the last Friday on the 8th week I called them
They were pretty shirty but said and offer was in the post dated 6th March- I said obviously not as it is Friday 1st April and yet to receive - please resend or email
Received letter talking percentages asking me to sign dated 5th April
Signed and sent back 7th April
Received letter dated 13th April saying I would be getting £917 .65 for the original policy plus £480.96 at 8% simple interest plus a payment of goodwill (not disclosed)
    Expect money in 21 days..........................................
Safe to say Result.......................YEY thanks very much Martin all your templates paid off. I did it all myself as I was stung by a company going after my shortfall with an endowment and I thought Mmmmm I could have done that.................So this time I DID IT

2002? so thats over the six years cut off point , hubby had a loan with TSB and we had a credit card each so we just use the templates and sit and wait?

failure - I tried to get PPI back from Vanquis credit card the other year and they refuesd. So didn't bother with any other credit cards ( I was self-employed at the time so I understand that I shouldn't have even been offered PPI?)

capital one - me and hubby ( still going and owing)
alliance and leicester - hubby ( still going and owing)
alliance and leicester loan - hubby - paid off
egg credit card - over six years ago
barclaycard - opened a/c over six years ago but still owe)
we had mortgage in 2001 and sold house in 2006(mortgage exit fee to claim?)
and hubby had a car on finance in 2005

so we just contact them all?
    thanks

  • After recently finishing repaying a £20,000 loan with LLOYDS/TSB which also had PPI attached to it. I used the draft letters from MSE.com to complain about the mis-selling of the PPI to me as I was serving in the the Armed Forces for the duration of the loan and did not need the cover protection it was supposed to be for. Even after telling them I was a Serviceman the loan advisor still recommended I purchased the PPI. The first reply from Lloyds was to tell me as I knew about the PPI they would not pay up and sent me copies of the original signed loan paperwork. After the second letter I sent Lloyds they said they would investigate further, and then finally after about 5-6 weeks I received a cheque for just over £5000 for a full PPI refund plus interest.

I didnt need to use those middle men companies on TV who take half your money when you get it I did it all by myself with the help of Martins draft letters No.1 & No.2 and I never had to send letter No.3 as they coughed up.

So if you are a member of the Armed Forces with PPI go get your money back as you DO NOT need it.

Many thanks for the help and advice.

    Kind regards.... J

Good for you :D:D Well done :T:T
  • I just have to write and say a BIG BIG thank you to Martin and his website for an amazing result in my PPI reclaim.:j

I took out a secured loan in 2006 with Nemo Personal Finance and was "bullyed" into taking out PPI despite my saying I would arrange my own. I even sent back the loan documents that had been printed with the PPI amounts saying I didnt want it only to be rung up and told I wouldnt get the loan without it. Finally I gave in as I needed the loan but have always had in the back of mind that it was wrong.

Then came all the hype out PPI mis-selling but I still rested on my laurels. Then I decided to take the plunge, set some time aside and just go for it......

After checking out your website and using the letter templates to write to them last December and then the Ombudsman with my water-tight case (I had copies of everything including my letter saying I didnt want it and their final loan agreement with "up-sell" written on it!!!) Nemo wrote to me in February and off their own back and not even with the intervention yet of the Ombudsman (a long back-log of cases to deal with) they upheld my complaint. It hadnt even been put on hold - result!!!

The result? A refund of £17,500 to my loan account and a cheque for £7000!!!!!!!:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

It is soooo easy to follow Martin's advice so I urge anyone with PPI sold to them to just put some time aside and get claiming. A few hours of putting your case together and filling out a form or two, the price of postage and you can get it all back - it works!!!

Martin, you are a superstar
