PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi,
I reclaimed the ppi off a loan that was sold to me by alliance and Leicester (now santander).
All I had to do was send the financial ombudsman complaint form to there "lets sort it out" address and they replied offering the ppi back with 8% interest back.
Thank you very much :j :T

I also had a loan with Liverpool Victoria/Frizzel and also did not realise that the PPI was optional. It took me 5 months to get my money back however. Cheers:beer:0

Good work everyone in reclaiming PPI. I came across an interesting article recently about the tactics banks use to generate sales of PPI and why it's so important to them.
Essentially, the article says that Banks train their staff to ask two questions - Do you really have a job for life? What happens if you get sick and can’t pay the bills?

Thanks for advertising your claims company Tom, but I'm afraid you have been reported.
25% + VAT, isn't that good anyway, there are cheaper companies out there who do a far better job. I'm not going to mention names, but they're out there. Either that or do it yourself for free.I drum and knit to help Independent Drummers and Knitters to comply with their rhythms and knitting patterns. Although I am qualified to, I don't advise drummers or knitters for reward.0 -
Hi all
I have had a PPI reclaiming success within the last year- A company called Redress Claims did this for me (But, to be honest, if there's anything else to be had, I'll be going solo to do this). I had my PPI refunded with 8% interest. Two cheques, a total of approximately £3600.

Hello - thought I'd update and answer my own question!
I had an Egg card where the debt was sold on to Apex, I wrote to Egg but wasn't sure how it would work as they no longer have the debt... well just got home to a lovely letter and cheque!! Hoping its enough to clear my debts if I offer the right prices. Any idea on where I start for making an offer to clear the debt with Apex? Couldn't work out where best to look!
Thanks again, am still in shock from the first cheque which only needed one letter, and now a second... why didn't I do this a year ago!!
Any advice would be gratefully received!0
