PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hope someone can give me some advise please..... We brought our first house in 2005 and arranged an interest only mortgage through HSBC, we didn't have a clue what we were doing as it was our first house so trusted them (stupidly) to advise us and guide us through what we required. We took out the whole lot with them, Mortgage protection Insurance, Life insurance, critical illness, etc! We recently came across our old paperwork as we have now changed to the Co-op and realised that HSBC insured us with a decreasing term life insurance policy (Co-op gave us level term) which was wrong because obviously the mortgage wasn't decreasing as it was interest only! Do you think we have a decent fight for a claim?
I love this website, I did a PPI claim with Northern Rock and recently got £6k back!! I believe this is our money and we blinking well deserve to get it back!!
Thanks for your help!0 -
Went through a claims handler and was awarded £9,700.00 approx back from Central Capital, they are now telling me that payment date will be 29th July 2011, does anyone know if they are allowed to hold on to the money for so long, they say they have a large back log. This doesn't seem right though. Thanks.0

Yes that's what I thought, I'm thinking of threatening them with this Website as the Money Saving Expert site wants to know your success stories for publishing, TV etc, thought this might gee them on a bit.
The thing is they have admitted that the policy was mis-sold about 2 weeks ago, so why just not pay out, basically they are earning interest on my money and also a bit worried that they won't pay.

Hi there
I would post this one on a separate thread below, stay within the PPI reclaiming threads, but I believe Dunstonh will know the answer to this one, with it being mortgage ppi, however its normally treated the same as loan ppi, but dunstonh will still know, you can subject it as "Mortgage ppi help" if you want to.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
