  • Hi again all

I posted last week to report on success with London and Scottish via the FOS, well today FOS have written to me to say that Halifax, although it accepts no liablility, as a gesture of goodwill is willing to make an offer to settle the complaint!! :j

Basically it will put me in the position had I not taken out PPI, however they have told FOS that it may take around a month from the date of my acceptance to make payment.

Anyway, thanks again to everybody on here (including M.colak who I know doesn't post much anymore but was a big help on this one when I started it!) and especially thanks to you Di as thanks to you I have been fast-tracked on both my complaints with FOS - I wouldn't have known about that possibility without you.

Will post again when I get some figures.

    Regards
    Amanda

LOL good work misses, think your onto one, lets hope you get it sorted.

well i rang halifax customer services team, they are in a right mess, not enough staff, i think in total when i asked there was 6 of them altogether dealing with the complaints and one was leaving this week, they cannot keep untop of the work coming through!...serves them right i say!

good work indeed, having spoken to the redress team, i told them what the FOS said and they advised they would call their team who deal with the FOS complaints and let me know what their view would be. The manager of the redress team called me back to say that i was right and that the FOS would tell them to refund me!! Woo!:p

I will be receiving a figure tomorrow when the manager calls me back. You know what though, every time the manage said he would call me back, he did, i was astonished!!

I said i wanted the refund by the end of the week and they said it should not be an issue, they had one more calculation to do an dthen they would then tell me if it was possible to refund directly into my bank.

I am one happy lady, i will let you all know what it works out to be!!

    :T
  • I'm still waiting for a settlement amount from Halifax, after getting the original refund letter six weeks ago (PPI on a personal loan).

The amount they offered would not put me back in the position I would have been in had they PPI not been added - so I queried it and not heard anything back yet. Reading the above posts, I can see why - if they are short staffed it could be a while before I hear anything.

Halifax have also agreed to refund all PPI on my credit card, which will slash a big chunk off my outstanding debt.

So, I'm happy. Keep at it, and go to the FOS if necessary, as you will win - just be prepared for a long wait.

Getting there one day at a time ;)

    hi,

I didnt actually put my complaint through the FOS, i just threatened Halifax with it and said i would claim for distress and inconvenience too.

I went directly to the redress team and then the manager of the redress team (after speaking with the exec office) got involved. They are very quick, it had to get authorized by 7 people and it only took 2 days to do that, this last step is to fin out how much i will get and to complete teh refund, it's with the departmnet that deals with refunds now so i will get the refund either today or monday. The FOS are good but i really only went to the for advice. They already have a capital one claim to deal with from me lol!

I'll update you all shortly, i only started this claim 2 wees ago so not bad id say!
